    Re: Starfield

So far the highest level solar system I came across were level 75. If I remember correctly, I think the highest is level 100. Oh and they released a patch yesterday.

First, an enormous thank you to all of you playing Starfield and your support. We are absolutely blown away by the response and all you love about the game. We’re also reading all your great feedback on what you’d like to see improved or added to the game. This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps. Our priority initially is making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of-life features that many are asking for.

This first update is a small hotfix targeted at the few top issues were are seeing. After that, expect a regular interval of updates that have top community requested features including:

    - Brightness and Contrast controls
    - HDR Calibration Menu
    - FOV Slider
    - Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
    - 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
    - Eat button for food!

We’re also working closely with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on driver support, and each update will include new stability and performance improvements.

Additionally, we are working on our built-in mod support (Creations) that will work across all platforms similar to what we’ve done with Skyrim and Fallout 4. This full support is planned to launch early next year. Until then, we know our PC community is already very active in the modding space and if you have any feedback on how we can make this better, please let us know . Modding and creating in our games will always be a vital and important part of who we are, and we love seeing the community get off to such a strong start.

Keep the feedback coming, we really do read it all, and thank you all again for taking this journey with us!

        So…..lost in Baldurs Gate 3.

But…..would this be a system seller game for you?

Worth picking up an X for Christmas for Starfield?

Is there anything else on xbox that has you interested? I am bias towards the "no" camp on your question since I refunded the game after 9 hours (thank you Steam), but since I imagine most in this thread will provide more favorable comments then I will try to balance it out.

I don't think that it is worthy of a whole system on its own. Some people call it a 10/10, others call it much less than that. As someone who refunded it, and historically loves these types of games, it's a solid 7/10, which I personally would not consider a system seller. I won't bore you with the things that I found good or underwhelming, I'll just point to the review scores that it has been getting though. The metacritic user score is definitely being dragged down from some review bombing from Playstation fans (for the exclusivity), but it's hard to say just how much that score is being dragged down given many of the underwhelming reactions on here, Reddit, Steam, etc... Steam has it as "mostly positive" which I think is probably the most apt description of it (for context, anyone on Steam who refunded the game during early access, Steam will not let us leave a review. Which I think is why it's the most accurate score since there are hurdles to getting your score listed).

The tl;dr here is that there are some people who are going to absolutely loves this game, and for those people you could justify a full system purchase for it. The general consensus seems to be that while it is a good game, it is not a great game, but there is a group of people that this game will reward them with hundreds of hours played. So, up to you if you if you think that you will be in the ladder group or might fall into the larger consensus instead. I wills say that I do not think that you won't be able to have fun with it if you were to buy. I just can't tell you how far that fun will go for any individual.

It was for me. Bought a Series X just for it. A lot of money, but I’m enjoying it so much, I have no regrets at all. Nothing will ever touch Witcher 3 for my all time favorite game, but this has a chance to get to #2 for me. Plus, whenever they get around to releasing Fallout 5, it may end up being an Xbox exclusive, too and I will have it covered.

I've spent about 17 hours in and I'm only at level 10.

They weren't kidding about the 250,000 lines of dialogue. I've spent most of my time just talking to people, gathering quests and enjoying the game's back story.

I've visited like maybe five planets. I've done very little space fighting. No weapon modification, no space ship building/modification, no settlement building.

I feel like I've barely scratched the surface.

Great idea, okay execution is this game in a nutshell for me

Glad it was on Gamepass, but with so many good games dropping this year this one is probably going to the backlog for me personally. Still need to pick up Baldur's Gate and MK1, and Lies of P just dropped as well. Not enough time for all these games

Honestly the reason I held onto my Series X and I’m not disappointed. If you liked Skyrim and are a fan of sci-fi then I would say yes.

62 Hours in and I'm still loving it. I haven't really gotten too deep on the main story quest, just out doing my thing. I was a big Bethesda fan anyway, and this game for me, did not disappoint.

Over 100+ hours and loving Starfield which is the first Bethesda Game Studios game that I have ever truly played. The quests are the game's best aspect followed by the ship combat, shooting combat and the story/characters/writing/etc.

While I still have a ways to go, Starfield is easily going to be my 2023 game of the year and is looking like the early favorite to be my game of the Xbox Series/PlayStation 5 generation.

Last night I had a bad night with a bunch of technical issues on my PC. I fired up Starfield, headed for space, had a beer and a gummy, then just sat there and watched outerspace as I slowly made my way through it.

For what would seem like hours I was completely relaxed, but in reality it was about 45 minutes. The game can be like a Zen experience.

And for whatever reason, in my mind, it works that way because it's 100% single player. For me, it could only be single player to be able to do this.

I had fun but after around 15 hours in I haven't gone back in awhile. The characters and story hasn't held my interest and the amount of fast traveling and loading times (even if it is fast) has been a bit disappointing. The action is decent and the game has some interesting elements, but it's just not for me.

Honestly, I'm surprised I put in as much time as I did, because the last several years I've played games less and less.

Have run into a big problem and am wondering if anyone can help. I’m on the empty nest mission and every time I try picking up the artifact it bugs out and says I need to pick it up again even though it’s already in my inventory. I’ve tried going back to earlier saves but it still bugs out. Is there a work around or am I going to have to wait for a patch?

I actually really like the game - but I skip most of the dialogue because the lines are too long winded and performed at a pace which is just too slow. With so much to do I can't wait for these "performances" and they seem agonizingly slow. I'd rather a strealined approach because most video game characters they try too hard and most are utterly forgettable. A game like this with so many, I'd rather people just cut to the chase
