Re: Far Cry 5
From the Ubi/FC5 forum:
We’re proud to announce that gamers will experience the chaos, unpredictability and ferociousness of the Far Cry franchise with Far Cry 5 on PS4 Pro, PS4, the Xbox One family of devices (incl. Project Scorpio) and PC.
Set in America for the first time, in Montana, players will have total freedom to navigate this serene-looking yet deeply twisted world solo or entirely in two-player co-op as they fight for survival and freedom, when the game releases on February 27, 2018.
High resolution
The development of the game is being led by Ubisoft Montreal, associate studios are Ubisoft Toronto, Kiev, Shanghai and Reflections.
As the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana, players will find that their arrival accelerates a years-long silent coup by a fanatical doomsday cult, the Project at Eden's Gate, igniting a violent takeover of the county. Caught off guard and drawn into a power struggle, players must disrupt the carefully laid plans of the Project at Eden’s Gate and fan the fires of resistance to help liberate the Hope County community and themselves.
Under siege and cut off from the rest of the world, players will join forces with residents of Hope County and form the Resistance. The fight against the cult will take players to unique locations throughout Hope County that provide different gameplay experiences. During their journey, players can fly planes to engage cult forces in aerial dogfights across Big Sky Country. While tracking down cult members and gathering resources for survival across farmland, forests, mountains and rivers, players can get behind the wheel of iconic American muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs and boats. Vehicles also provide refuge when under attack by animals or as a way to quickly escape when things don’t go as planned.
To take down the cult, players will need to utilize any and all weapons at their disposal, including ranged weapons such as guns and grenades as well as melee weapons like the baseball bat. Additionally, players can recruit Guns for Hire from a large cast of characters, or even Fangs for Hire, specialized animals like bears and cougars to complement players’ playstyles whether they’re going in stealthily or forcefully. How players approach each situation and the chaos they create in Far Cry 5 is up to them. Far Cry 5 will also see the return of the map editor, giving players the opportunity to create and play an infinite amount of new playgrounds. The map editor will include new features that add a new dimension to the content created by fans, with more details coming soon.
Note that players on PS4 will get free content at launch, with the purchase of the game. Players on Xbox and PC will have the same content available through the Ubisoft Club.

Re: Far Cry 5
The second image is concept art, not sure about the first one - might be concept art as well, but it looks nice, looks like a movie scene. I think playing this game while listening to some good ol' country music (which I LOVE) can be awesome! My Specs:

Re: Far Cry 5
The last FC I played was FC2 (never played 3 and 4). I think FC2 had African music, but I'm not sure if it was an actual soundtrack, or just music that came out from in-game radios. My Specs:

Re: Far Cry 5
Only prominent in the opening credits for 3 and 4. M.I.A. - Paper Planes in 3 and Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go in 4. Funny because Paper Planes actually samples another Clash song, Straight to Hell. Then sometimes where you're in a vehicle around a tower you took there would be clips of a song and radio show.Comment

Re: Far Cry 5
Far Cry is only of two franchises in which each game I have played and completed, I rated a 9/10. FC 3, FC 4 and Primal. All three are excellent games with enough variation and differences to where you can enjoy all three. Primal is awesome if you love bows, arrows, spears and stealth.Comment

Re: Far Cry 5
I remember playing the first FC for the first time and it blew my mind! I had lots of fun with it, though I don't think I completed it, but my dad did. He loved that game!
FC2 was awesome gameplay-wise, but I didn't really understand if there was a story or not. The way I saw it, it was all just go wherever, do whatever, it felt like Ubi just came up with the bare minumum excuse for you to take a job, but I didn't care, I just wanted to go out and have a blast. I was just starting to like open world games when I played it (a couple of years after it was released), so I wasn't sure about the "story". But I LOVED playing it, very addicting, and somewhat realistic and I had a lot of fun.
I was disappointed FC2 didn't have a tropical island setting, as I didn't really like the Africa setting, but it fit the "story". Just like FC1, this game also was somewhat innovative for its time.
I'll get to play 3 and 4 sometime, but 5 seems to draw may attention much more. The setting is more to my liking, but we'll wait and see.My Specs:

Re: Far Cry 5
I hated far cry 2. And the maps were garbage. Far cry 3 and 4 were amazing though.
