Anthem (PS4,X1,PC)

I did everything in Division 1 solo except for the Dark Zone at launch. Expecting pretty much the same in Division 2. Played the open beta and wasn't restricted at all. In Anthem with no PvP, the option to solo everything should be there. Even if you can't complete it solo, at least allow me to attempt it.

You’re ignoring a bunch of content to try and make whatever point you are. There were things in division 1 you couldn’t do solo . There are things in division 2 you can’t do solo. These are facts. You can try to talk around them but it won’t change them.

Your “at least let me attempt them” point is silly. They are not possible to do solo. Just like destiny raids. If they let you attempt them you would try them once and see that and never try again.

I hear you about people not giving the game a fair chance and wanting the game to fail but the problem with putting out games with known bugs and issues with the intention of fixing them as time goes by is that once the game is supposedly fixed after a few months is that most people have already moved on to other games at that point. Not to mention that many times companies patch a game only to cause another bug somewhere else. Game companies have become dependent on patching games instead of putting out a finished game. I would rather they delayed more games than put out unfinished products.

A game like this can not launch finished. It’s impossible. They need to add content and patch things and when they do unfortunately things can be negatively impacted. If the game is fun they will maintain a player base through that and other people will come back. It happened with the division and it will most likely happen here.


If your post was about Spider-Man or tomb raider or something I could see where you are coming from. These games are different animals though.

I have no idea why you keep ignoring what I’m saying about the 8 person raids in division 2. You are not going to be able to do them solo.

Lmao. You don’t need to let me know. I already know. You will be able to play through division campaign solo once again. You will not be able to do some of the end game solo. Incursions, raids etc. Feel like a broken record. Just don’t buy anthem and move on. No need to bash it for reasons every other game in its genre could also be bashed for.

I can't think of a multi-player game that's come out in the past 5 years that hasn't been littered with initial problems. Especially a first time IP. They eventually get staightened out, but the games get patched as we have them, it's just the current state of affairs.

The Division 2 is day one because the Dark Zone is mostly PvP which I have no interest in so I can fully ignore it. As for the Strongholds, there's a difference. You can still attempt them solo in The Division 2. After watching their State of the Game video earlier, The Division 2 looks like a 200 hour game and that's only based on me playing as a solo lone wolf. Anyway, correct me if im wrong but from what I have read, you can't access the Strongholds in Anthem unless you have a team with you. Is that true? Or can you at least attempt them?

Currently you can not attempt the Strongholds alone. If you try to set it to private, it tells you can't and puts it back to Public and will put you in a team with Random people unless you have a team.

If EA/BioWare ever patches in the ability to play solo, I'll definitely give Anthem a chance.

It will never happen. The entire game is structured on defeating repeating waves of enemies. You can play solo up to a certain point, like the first 4 or 5 story missions until the waves become too numerous for 1 player to defeat.

He doesn’t understand. I literally tried all day. The funny thing is if strong holds were not in at launch and added later like division content that requires groups he wouldn’t care. It makes no sense. He’s giving up on like 40ish hours of content because other activities require a group.


The matchmaking in this game couldn’t be more simple also. I select stronghold and it instantly puts me in a group. Very rarely do I even bother using a mic unless I’m playing with people I know. It’s seamless just like the division. You can easily just hop in an out of activities with randoms and it goes perfectly for the most part.

Must have been an issue with servers at lunch. I had enemies popping in and slow down. The game would barely let me move until I exited Free Play. First time that has happened to me. Just crafted the Dawn Shield though!

I’m not an online gamer for the most part but I have enjoyed it and having random teammates join me has not been an issue at all. I have played a bunch and if I end up getting 40+ hours of gaming (which I fully expect to) I will be very satisfied. Doing free play and World Events has been fun. The story has been good and you can talk to a lot of characters if you want but aren’t forced to. I think BioWare toned down this aspect a lot more than their previous RPG games and I’m glad. The combat to tedious conversation ratio has improved. I’ve only done one Stronghold so far and have largely stuck with story missions. I Love my Colossus.
