Re: Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Yup. I'm finishing The Last of Us, and Rise is on my list to start after this. I bought it on its release date and still haven't opened the package, which is sad because I got 100% in the first game and preferred its gameplay to Uncharted's.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Shadow of the Tomb Raider
I loved the previous two very much. I like Rise more, but I think the fact it was the first game I played in the current gen makes it more memorable to me. It's still one of the most visually gorgeous game I've ever played.
I watched a gameplay video and I've seen some stealth mechanics that seem reminiscent of the Batman Arkham series. Actually, this worries me a bit, I'd hate to spend a good chunck of the game waiting people to move while I'm sitting on ledges. But I'm 100% getting it, love the series in all its incarnations.Comment

Re: Shadow of the Tomb Raider
I loved the first two game of the reboot and am looking forward to this! The gameplay looks similar, which is great, and they've added some nice touches like rappelling, swinging sideways on the walls, and more underwater traversal. Looks great!Comment

Re: Shadow of the Tomb Raider
The game will offer a “new game plus” mode. What is cool is that you retain all your final skills and weapons but the game also unlocks 3 specialty skill trees with new things to unlock.
Path of the Serpent
You gameplay features an emphasis on stealth and subterfuge. Take down your foes one by one, using sound and decoys to sow chaos among their ranks. Mud and camoflague lets you lash out your foes before slipping back into the shadows.
Path of the Jaguar
Your gameplay features an emphasis on hunting and combat. Strike down your enemies with an unrivaled ferocity. Your agility and close-ranged prowess tear through your enemies with knife takedowns.
Path of the Eagle
Gameplay features an emphasis on traversal and resourcefulness. Observe your enemies from afar, scouting out to plan your next attack. Traverse with ease, attacking enemies from long range.
Rewards
Each chosen path will unlock a variety of exclusive rewards that further compliment your playstyle and gameplay.
By selecting a path, you'll unlock mastery skills featuring a variety of unique new abilities. From Jaguar Rage to Eagle Sight, each skill expands your game play.
On top of new skills available, chosen Paths feature unique themed weapons and outfits that further take your game.

The best thing I've read about this game is the ability to change puzzle difficulty (not kidding)Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: Shadow of the Tomb Raider
As usual with Square Enix and ROTTR/SOTTR, it's horrible decisions and the release date that's hurting this game which is a shame because im expecting it to be at least a 9.0/10 for me. I loved ROTTR and Shadow doubles down on everything that made that one great but with more focus on the story and characters which is really the only weak aspect of this rebooted trilogy in my opinion. Everything else is excellent.
Don't know why SE would release this game a week after Spider Man but that is an exclusive so im hoping but not expecting that a good amount of Xbox One/PC only owners pick up the game. For $38 GCU including the pre-order reward certificate, the game is a steal.
Outside of God of War, 2018 has been dead for me but starting with Yakuza Kiwami 2, the end of the summer and fall is going to be packed. Out of the games that im going to be buying and playing, SOTTR is my second most anticipated ahead of Spider Man and RDR 2. It's going to be a great game. Just has a stupid release date in my opinion.Comment
