Fallout New Vegas is one of my top ten games ever, 4 hours in and I already know that this will surpass it on my list. This type of high tech dystopian futuristic setting appeals to me way, way more than a ruined post apocalyptic one. There are some design elements that make no sense whatsoever, but taken as a whole, this is the perfect type of game for me.

I am not a fan of the Fallout games so I was hesitant to fire this up (thank you game pass). I played for two hours last night and I enjoy it so far.

Jeez.....im horrible in first person games. Messed around with the tutorial and died twice on normal. May have to test out the opening on "story" difficulty later and see how that goes.

Just playing the tutorial though, it looks beautiful and vibrant. Two nitpicks which are for me general every game complaints. First being when crouched in the grass, why do the developers darken the corners of the screen? Sekiro did the same damn thing when crouched. It's annoying and I hate it. Second being the blood splatter on the screen when your health gets depleted below a certain point. This covers up visibility and will never understand why games that have a health bar on the screen do this. I have a health bar and I can see it. I don't need blood splatter on the screen.

Otherwise, no actual issues whatsoever. Will mess around on easy tonight and then play for real starting Thursday.

Played it on game pass, don't like it, players models look like last gen. Maybe its because Im not an RPG guy. Just doesn't hold my attention.

Yeah, I'm similar, just left the first area after doing everything and it's addicting to me. It is like fallout, but somewhat more polished maybe. I dunno, it's just a lot of fun.

Enjoying it a lot.
only issue for me is player feels floaty (as well as the guns really.. no "weight")
I'm fine with the stealth "In the high grass" visual.
If I can be 3 feet from someone and they can't see me.. my vision shouldn't be crystal clear.

Yeah it takes some getting used to but seems more "real" to me this way.
We're just used to there being no obstructions when hiding.

I've never liked combat in the fallout games, and this one feels pretty much the same. Everything else about the game so far though is superb.

Honestly that is the only thing really holding me back. All the videos look awesome until they start showing the combat. I tolerated it when I played Fallout, but it always felt sluggish and dated to me.

If combat style and difficulty are among the top 3 or 4 things that you care about in an RPG, then this might not be a game that you will really like.

I can roll with it if the rest of the game exceeds expectations. I had a lot of fun with Fallout and sometimes those cinematic kill shots are worth the fight.
