Re: Dreams (PS4)
I have a very narrow focus for this game. I'm going to try to create muay thai animations with a generic puppet. From there if I can get to a place I feel good about I'll either collaborate with someone good at sculpting or sink a ton of hours into that. I'll also be working on impact/effect results and I thought of a really cool unique way to do that.
If all of that goes well I'll move to environment. If that goes well or a collab goes well I'll try to collaborate with different scenes which would impact the core gamplay - like RPG interactions with food, excersize, gym's etc.
So if anyone is good at sculpting or other 'meta' logic let me know. I'm going to primarily focus on the animation because I'm into film in real life and have a history in martial arts including muay thai and boxing/tkd so I know the balance to create something at least semi-true, that also looks cool and powerful and also how it will relate to speed and timing of the rest of the move-set to keep it CONSISTENT. This will take a long time and I'm ok with that! lol
This game wasn't on my radar until a couple of days ago, but I'm looking forward to sitting down and seeing where my imagination takes me.

Re: Dreams (PS4)
I'll be editing this post later to pile on as I find new things, but there are a couple of areas within edit mode that are oddly unavailable to the user (correct me if I'm wrong on any of these). You can't:
- Change the opacity of an object.
- Change from metric to imperial values (though Google is my friend for that).
- See ruler distances in sculpt mode.
- Program a certain length you want to scale a dimension of your object.
- Program a certain angle you want to rotate your object (although things like 45 and 90 degrees are easily possible).
- Anchor a pivot of an object to rotate from it (when you do rotate, where you grab it with your imp becomes the anchor... which is nice, but sometimes ineffective for what I'm speaking about in turn).
I'm also having trouble figuring out what the best finish type is for things like wood, rubber, and cloth.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

you can 'snap' to lengths or move distances and pivots when using that w/ other aids in the assists tab or whatever it's called where you pulll up the grid and decide how fine you want it - if it's more sparce or tight you can get movments to 'snap' so that you remove the infinite nature of hand craftedness
there are good youtube tutorial people I've found 2 that apply directly to me in terms of usefulness

another is TAPgiles who's more platforming but really good tutorials.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Dreams (PS4)
Thanks. I tried to look online regarding opacity (when I couldn't find it myself) and there was one person who said that it couldn't be changed. Maybe that was in the early access version only, though.
I've definitely used the grid thing, but I didn't know if those were actually metric lengths or anything like that. That was what I meant when I said there is an easy workaround to get things like 45 or 90 degree angles, but exact lengths on the other hand would have to be counted somehow. I've been jumping in and out of sculpt mode with the rulers I laid out to figure them out, personally. It's been a pain, though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Dreams (PS4)
I haven't touched the game in a few months, but my problem is I can either not think of any ideas or I think of too many and can't narrow down what I want to do. And when I do think of a concept, I never think deep enough to know exactly what I want to do and how to do it. Once I have the time to play this more I just need to sit there and force myself to focus on one or two projects only and build around them.
Does anyone know if building a text sim is possible in this game? Also, I need someone to make Viva Pinata 3 in this game for me, lol.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Dreams (PS4)
Not saying either will ever come to fruition, but I think once busy season dies down I'll be focusing on only two dreams that I'll rotate back and forth working on. One will simply be a tennis game. The other will be a prison break type game that has a similar comical tone to the two Escapists games, but in 3D.
Like I said, who knows how far I'll ever get, but I'll definitely be focused on those two when creating anything. I think it'll be fun learning. Tennis should be simple to model for and I have a simple control scheme that I've thought up to help have some good control over your character. We'll see what I can do.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
