    Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

Haven't had a huge amount of game time lately but what I am playing:

    PS4:

Red Dead Redemption 2: my second playthrough. In chapter 4 now and doing as many challenges and everything else I can with Arthur.

The Witcher 3: my first playthrough, I have been playing from time to time since I got it on sale last fall on the PSN store. Definitely a fun game.

    PC:

Planet Zoo: this game is great. This is right up my alley in terms of the PC games I like. Play it here and there and I am building an epic zoo.

    Sports games:

These just don't do it for me like the used to. It is harder for me to become engaged in the genre these days.

Most recently I was playing some MLB but I can't get engaged in it and pulled it from my rotation back in May.

    Future purchases:

    The Avengers game for sure.
Debating on getting any new sports games. Likely not.
PS5 is doubtful for me at this point.

    Backlog:
I have a big backlog of games I want to start and/or finish. A small assortment of them including:

    God of War
    Assassin's Creed Odyssey
    Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Madden 20 - Miami Dolphins Franchise Season 5

This is my rotation which I don't see changing for a while. Having a blast with all these games.

I finished Persona 5 Royal and had an amazing time with it. Easily my GOAT game. Stopped playing Nioh; I didn't find it to be that much fun beyond being a challenge. FIFA and Madden I'll pick back up once I get a PC to play and mod.

Right now I'm playing 2k20 MyLeague, Nier Automata, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

        Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

Halfway through 2020 and only 5 months until NEXT GEN!!!

        CURRENTLY PLAYING
        - Nothing. Finished TLOUP2 earlier today and will start Desperados III on Monday. Played the tutorial for it before TLOUP2 came out and really enjoyed it so im looking forward to playing it.

        2020 COMPLETED
        - Metro Exodus: Sam's Story expansion (8.0/10. Story and characters is very well done and finally, the protagonist (Sam) actually has full voice acting which I hope 4A Games copies for Artyom in the next Metro game.)

        - Darksiders Genesis (8.5/10. Great twin stick shooter with melee combat, puzzles and platforming. Good boss fights. Solid story. Beautiful visuals. Great music and voice acting.)

        - The Division 2: Warlords of New York (8.5/10. Great expansion. Really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what The Division 3 will be like on next generation hardware.)

        - Remnant: From the Ashes (8.0/10. Finally officially completed the game as I was stuck near the end last summer when I first played it. Great game. Excellent boss fights. Beautiful visuals and art style. Excellent gunplay and shooting mechanics.)

        - Resident Evil 3 (8.5/10. Gorgeous visuals. Good audio. Excellent gameplay and combat. Good story and characters. Enjoyed it despite never playing the original but REmake2 is still superior in my eyes.)

        - Final Fantasy VII Remake (9.0/10. Stunning game. Excellent music, sound and voice acting. Excellent gameplay and combat system. Horrible camera during combat in my opinion though. Good story and excellent characters even though it gets confusing at the end. Never played the original or any FF game for that matter. Will definitely see future episodes through to completion.)

        - Trials of Mana Remake (8.0/10. Good visuals. Solid music and audio. Really enjoyed the gameplay and combat. Good story and characters.)

        - Streets of Rage 4 (8.0/10. Nice art style. Excellent music. Decent story and characters. Great gameplay and combat. Wish their was voice acting though. Is either my third best SOR game or tied with SOR 2 for second best. The original SOR remains the best game in the series for me.)

        - The Last of Us Part II (8.5/10. Superb visuals, animations, environments, etc. Excellent audio all around. Gameplay and combat is also excellent with shooting being slightly clunky and stiff at times. Story and characters are just average.)

        BACKLOG
        - None. Backlog is done.

        JULY
07/17 - Ghost of Tsushima (Guaranteed day one. My second most anticipated title since E3 2018.)

        AUGUST
08/28 - Mafia Remake (Never played the original and based on the screen shots, im all in.)
08/28 - Wasteland 3 (Will be playing this game in September after Mafia Remake.)

Next Gen wise, I have 18 games that are 100% guaranteed to be played and completed. 14 for Xbox Series X and 4 for PlayStation 5. I have an additional 18 games that are 50/50 and could either be played or simply removed from the list. This does NOT include games that haven't been officially announced but are expecting like WB Montreal's Batman game, Playground's Fable or Ubisoft's Far Cry 6. They will be added once they get officially announced.

This generation will be done in October for me with my PlayStation 4 Pro being traded in and will wait until the next gen consoles release which im expecting to be November for both.

          Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

With the year about half over this is kind of what i am looking at for the rest of the year as of now depending on if there is other stuff we don't know about yet like say a new batman game and depending on what kind of release date other games may have that don't have a date yet.

          July- Ghost of Tsushima
          September- Tony hawk 1-2 remake
October- Crash 4, lego star wars the skywalker saga

Holiday- PlayStation 5 and Spiderman MM, and Kena bridge of spirits.

I had just replayed Ratchet and clank tools of destruction and Crack in time like 1-2 months ago, and now with knowing we are getting ratchet and clank rift apart i may replay some more games before it comes out even though we don't know if its a like launch game or 2021 game. I did just start replaying Into the nexus like yesterday.

              Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

              Duuuuuuuude.

I just got v1 of my home theater set up. I bought a condo with a basement recently and I have a dedicated room finally after all these years of making compromises with speaker placement, living room layouts, etc.

I have a 4K projector, 120" Screen, full 7.1 setup (may upgrade to Atmos soon) all in a light-controlled room. These past 2 months I have put a lot of gaming and movies on hold because I wanted to experience them in this room rather than a "tiny" 50-inch OLED hahaha.

The next step for me is to get the room itself actually finished, I need to get drywall patched/finished, paint the room a dark gray, and lay down some carpet. I plan on posting pics when its finished. But I have enough for now done to get going again on movies and games.

My gaming plans for the reset of the year are:
              • Finish Dragons Dogma I started a playthrough in the Spring on Switch, but with my new room I plan on restarting on PC to get the best graphics possible. This game has totally captured my imagination over the past few months, can't wait to get back to it.

              • TLOU/DLC/TLOU2 Confession - I only made it about halfway through the first game when it was released on PS4. Now that the 2nd game is out, I'm going to try to power through part 1, the DLC and the new game once I'm done with the main storyline of DD.

              • Ghost of Tsushima This game looks amazing. I have 4-5 Akira Kurosawa films teed up for my new theater, and I want to watch those before I get to this game. Considering playing in black and white with subtitles on to get the cinematic effect.

              • Marvel's Avengers My 9 year old is going to draw me in to this game, I already know it. Will probably buy it on PC to get the best graphics and the eventual mods.

              • The Witcher 3 - Once all that's done, I'm going to tackle The Witcher. Realistically this will probably be early 2021. I dabbled in it a little but I'll restart completely for a PC/Switch playthrough.

              • NBA 2K/PES Who am I kidding? I will probably blow off all the games above and spend most of my time playing 2K and PES, like always.

I'm not really interested in the next gen consoles, I have so much stuff to play on this PS4 and even some PS3-era stuff like Shadows of Colossus remake that I'll be good for a long time.
NBA 2K20 MyLeague - Reloaded - The San Antonio Spurs

NBA 2K19 MyLeague - Pound the Rock - The San Antonio Spurs

my gaming plans for the rest of this year will probably include, more Division 2, NBA2k21 and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands(which will probably take most of my time)
                Toronto Blue Jays
                Toronto Raptors
                Las Vegas Raiders

                  Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

We're past the halfway point for the year, so time to revisit.

                  Purchased
                  MLB 20
                  Tekken 7

Snagged Tekken 7 on sale back in April. But other than the yearly MLB purchase, that's been it for me.

                  Completed
                  Jedi Fallen Order
                  Arkham Asylum
                  Tekken 7

It was all Jedi for me the first month or so of the year. Finally got around to my backlog and knocked out AA. Finished the story on T7, so I consider it completed.

                  Currently Playing
                  Madden 20
                  NBA 2K20
                  MLB 20
                  Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy
                  Spider-Man

I've slowed down on the sports games. Actually enjoying M20 more than 2K or MLB.

                  Plan to Purchase
                  None

Currently plan to wait on the PS5. Planning to sit out M21 and 2K21. Will probably wind up grabbing some games on sale. But otherwise, I'm going to spend the rest of the year tackling the backlog.

                    Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

Golf season is upon me so I'm not playing as much as I was.

                    Currently playing:

                    OOTP 21...4 online leagues (yikes)
                    Slay the Spire
NCAA 14 currently 1st season as Auburn OC
                    XCOM (on PS3)
                    The Golf Club 2019

Will buy: Golf 2k21 or whatever the heck they are calling it

Backlog is long but these are going to get attention:
Frostpunk when Slay the spire is done
AC origins or AC Oddyssey when XCOM done
                    Persona 5 after that

                    In line behind them:
                    real attention to Civ 6
                    Total War: Warhammer
                    Borderlands 3
                    Ghost Recon (something or other...Wildlands?)
                    Dishonored (and maybe 2)
                    Bioshock Infinite

We'll see. I survived the Steam summer sale with zero purchases.
                    Now playing
                    too much
Nobody Saves the World, Total Warhammer3, NCAA14, ootp

                      Re: 2020 Gaming Plans

I'm going to say that this is pretty much my final for the year. Even though this year has been dreadful, the quality of games released or still releasing have been tremendous. Also, never before has my virtual sports gaming been more important to me than now.

Going to complete Death Stranding 1st before jumping back to TLoU2.

My PS5 lineup is small. If RE: Village releases with full VR support in Jan 21, then I'll jump on it immediately. Other than that I'll wait, and I'm ready for next generation with the mentioned lineup and whatever new announcements it will have.

Star Wars Squadrons is my most anticipated title for the year! It would have been my top for the full year!

                          Completed

Ghost Of Tshusima (9/10) - Awesome game that checked off all of the boxes with quality gameplay and story. The one negative I have is that it was long so looking back I might should have avoided all of the fox den type stuff. Its a really pretty game I looking forward to playing it again someday in 4k. Another top notch Sony exclusives that's easily in my top 10 games this gen. I've got a a decent amount of side quest I'll get back to at a later date. Its just a cool game about a culture that I don't know alot about.

Last of Us 2 (disappointed) - This is probably my biggest disappointment in games history after loving the 1st game. I didn't know how to rate it because i give the world and gameplay a perfect 10. It was the story that just didn't click with me. It was a wild ride with a ton of emotions.

Outer Worlds (5.5/10) - I have a rule where if I don't finish the game then I cant rate it over a 6. I gave up on this game after only a few hours. My biggest gripe was the lack of tutorial because I didn't understand the upgrade system at all. I had never played fallout so maybe they expected me to know what to do. I also died a ton on the easy setting which may have also been tied to the lack of upgrades. I need to give it another try I just don't know if I will since I borrowed the game.

Dreams (6 /10) - I'm not sure If i have played enough hours to really justify a ranking on this one. I did finish the main story and played around with the user creations for a bit. The story didn't do much for me. It was cool just looking around and seeing what everyone created. I just always found myself playing another game instead of it.

Star Wars Jeda Fallen Order (6.5 /10) - I know nothing about star wars and haven't seen any of the movies. The story and what was going on didn't really make sense to me. It was a solid game, I'm just not the one to be a judge on a star wars game. I knocked it 2 points alone for the one mission where you had to walk back to the ship that took me forever to know where to go.

Maneater (8/10) - A really good unique simple game to sit back and listen to podcast/music while playing. The story was better then I expected and enjoyed the boss fights. I ended up enjoying it enough to get all the trophies. How could you not have fun being a shark and eating humans/fish ?

I'm not a negative guy when it comes to reviews if you pay attention to my other post your notice that. However it was a rough stretch for me as I waited till LOU to come out

Death Stranding (3/10) - This game simply isn't any fun and is the least fun I've had in a game. The story was so weird and long I just skipped the cutscenes even at the end of the game. I did manage to play 40 hours which is because I was home bored. I didn't play the creators other games so maybe he use to be a genius, but he isn't anymore. The game didn't need to be as long as it was with repetitive gameplay. They also gave you so many gadgets I lost track of them all.

Control (3.5/ 10) - Their decision to not have difficulty setting mixed with a horrible checkpoint system may have been the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a game. You might appeal to the hardcore crowd, but the average guy like me doesn't have the stick skills. I gave up even trying because on top of dying so much the checkpoint system brought me back a few minutes away. If they had just had 1 of the 2 I might could have finished the game because the gameplay was fun. Those two things combined were so mind blowing bad I'm happy the game didn't sell well. The fact that this game won so many game of the year awards is a crime.

Watch Dogs 2 (9/10) - On a brighter note I absolutely loved this game and it easily makes my top 10 this gen. The silly light hearted tone in this game was the right move from the 1st game while not going to far over the top. The gameplay was different enough and I liked the smaller map and being able to fast travel. I even got the platinum trophy which is rare for me. The story was good enough and I can't wait for the next one.

Tropico 6 (7.5/10) - I was planning on giving this a higher review however the last few missions got incredible tedious so I quit playing. I'm a massive fan of the Caribbean so I enjoyed that part of the game. It had been forever since I played this type of game and it was a good time killer. I just wish the last few missions were not so dang tough to finish. Overall I enjoyed my time with this one and it was good change of pace game that deep down I wanted to rate higher.

Batman Enemy Within (7/10) - This is the season 2 telltale and it was a solid game that killed a week of time at home. I picked it up cheap and quickly traded it back in to get a few bucks for.

ive actually lost interest in playing triple A single player games on the current gen systems, Im waiting to play them all on next gen systems for the better visuals and performance.

Games I own but have not beat yet waiting on next gen patch.

Early into September and still waiting for pre-orders to go live for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Just trying to wrap up a few things and waste time while waiting for November to get here.

                              CURRENTLY PLAYING
                              - The Division 2: Season Two Manhunt Content

                              - Ghost of Tsushima (9.5/10. Superb visuals and overall, stunning game visually. Excellent combat and gameplay except for the camera at times during combat. Excellent audio. Excellent story and characters. Loved the entire journey. Great character side quests.)

                              - Remnant: From the Ashes (8.0/10. Finally officially completed the game as I was stuck near the end last summer when I first played it. Great game. Excellent boss fights. Beautiful visuals and art style. Excellent gunplay and shooting mechanics.)
                              - Remnant: From the Ashes / Subjext 2923 (7.0/10. Good expansion if you love the base game.)

                              - Resident Evil 3 (8.5/10. Gorgeous visuals. Good audio. Excellent gameplay and combat. Good story and characters. Enjoyed it despite never playing the original but REmake2 is still superior in my eyes.)

                              - Trials of Mana Remake (8.0/10. Good visuals. Solid music and audio. Really enjoyed the gameplay and combat. Good story and characters.)

                              - The Last of Us Part II (8.0/10. Superb visuals, animations, environments, etc. Excellent audio all around. Gameplay and combat is also excellent with shooting being slightly clunky and stiff at times. Story and characters are just average.)

                              BACKLOG
                              - Dishonored 2 (next up after Division 2)
                              - Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (my October game)
                              - Control (will wait for the Ultimate Edition on next gen hardware to play the expansions)
                              - The Outer Worlds (will play it on Xbox Series X via Game Pass and if I complete the game which im planning to do, I will then play the expansions)
                              - Wasteland 3 (will play it on Xbox Series X via Game Pass)
                              - The entire Halo franchise. Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo 5 and Halo Reach. Will be starting with Reach in probably January. Goal is to play one every 6-8 weeks while waiting for Halo Infinite which im expecting to be released in November 2021.

                              SEPTEMBER
08/25 - Mafia Remake (Never played the original but im all in day one digitally and once I finish it, I will be ready for Mafia IV if/when it releases)

                              NEXT GEN
Next Gen wise, I ordered the 4K LG 55" CX OLED the other day as it was to good to pass up. Should receive on Friday. Will check it out but it's not being used until Next Gen in November. In two weeks, while on vacation, I will be buying a new TV stand to go with the TV, two gaming chairs, a new computer desk, a better modem and in late October, I will be increasing my internet speed from 200MB to 400MB.

Next Gen games wise, I have 38 total games on my list. 34 games for Xbox Series X and 4 games for PlayStation 5. Approximately 20+ games on the list could be completed before 2021 ends as I have 10-12 games for launch and another 10-12 that im expecting to get released in 2021.

As of now, my Next Gen launch (November/December) list is as follows -

                              - Assassin's Creed Valhalla (gold edition, digital)
                              - Crossfire X (campaign only, digital)
                              - Cyberpunk 2077 (complete edition, digital, won't play until CDPR releases the "next gen" patch will be in 2021 sometime)
                              - Gears Tactics (game pass)
                              - Immortals: Fenyx Rising (formerly Gods & Monsters which is what Ubisoft should have stayed with. rumored to be releasing in December which I don't believe but I am expecting a release date announcement during this coming Thursday's UBISOFT FORWARD. either way, im most likely in. just don't know if I will buy the game on disc or digitally)
                              - Marvel's Spider Man: Miles Morales (base game, disc)
                              - Marvel's The Avengers (base game, digital)
                              - Ori and the Will of the Wisps (game pass)
                              - Outriders (thus far, base edition, haven't decided if im buying it digitally or on disc. all depends on what their post launch content will be)
                              - The Ascent (digital only game)
                              - Watch Dogs Legion (base game, disc)

So as of now, im expecting to have up to 11 games barring any delays which there could be a few. Either way, im ready for Next Gen.

                              IS IT NOVEMBER YET?????

                                Spoiler
6 months of a pandemic has not made much of a difference in my gaming habits this year.

                                2020 Purchases:
OOTP 21 - Only recently started really sinking any time into it, but it's been a huge time sink for me over the last couple of weeks.

World War Z - Free off the Epic store earlier this year. It provided about 2-3 weeks of solid online gaming with friends before we got burned out.

Ghosts of Tsushima - Great game, but I burned myself out on it after about a week.

Control - Purchased about a week ago. Only a couple of hours into it, but it seems fun.

F1 2020 - Purchased about a week ago. I've completed 1 full race so far, and half of the 2nd practice. Tons of fun, but it does require a pretty big commitment as I have the races set at 100%.

I wish that I could add Horizon Zero Dawn to this list, but the performance issues have me holding off until they are patched.

Non 2020 purchases that I've been playing off/on:
                                Starcraft 2
                                TW: Warhammer 2
                                Diablo 3

Guess I'm just waiting on Cyberpunk at this point. Not sure if I'm just getting too old for this hobby or if the types of games that appeal to me just aren't being made.
