Re: US PSP Dated And Priced
Cool good points but like I said to each his own man.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerEvery game is made from scratch, my point is, they are all available somewhere else. Don't tell me you are buying the system for Mercury or Luminares? You'll be the only one. None of those games interest me because I've played them all before. You can call Ridge Racer, Twisted Metal, WipeOut, NBA, etc all new games, but in reality, you played them a few years ago on the PS2. They have been cleaned up and now are on the PSP. Sorry, I'm not paying $50 for a game I've already played. I was all over this system when it was rumored at 179 and the games were to be 30-40 bucks. At 250 and 50 bucks a game, it's more than an XBox and 2 games for the system alone. And for what? a crappy carrying case, headphones which don't match the system (why are they freaking white?!), a copy of Spiderman 2 which I own on DVD and will never watch, and a throw away useless 32MB memory card. There is nothing, NOTHING original on this system. Every game that is different is some goofy game that won't sell anyway and isn't worth the $50. Are you going to pay $50 for Mercury?! It's Marble Madness!!! You played it 15 years ago on the NES. Now it's just prettier. Sony blew it on the prices and horrible launch lineup IMO.Comment

I know... And don't get me wrong, the PSP is a damn sexy machine and games look freaking incredible on it. I'm just annoyed by the arrogance of Sony to charge what they are for it. Like I said, if it was 179, I would still be complaining about the lineup, but it would be in my hands on launch day guaranteed.Comment

Lucky you...every store I've been into (Atlanta, GA) have said that they are reserving for second shipment only...Originally posted by fully23I just reserved the value pack at EB. They said I did not need to preorder any games with it.Comment

My point exactly!Originally posted by 8bit50 dollars for a handheld game is too much. Handheld games appeal to the masses because of their convienence. Why would I pay 50 dollars for a game that I can get on my xbox or ps2?Comment

Re: US PSP Dated And Priced
yeah man especially since sony is porting a crap load of games onto psp and making too little original titles, that draws me on even less. When online stores stop selling their own custom made 400 dollar "kits", and start selling the 250 dollar sony "kit" and when sony allows just the 150 dollar handheld to be sold. When games start becoming 30 dollars, and when they start making games that feel unique to the handheld and not ports or games that could just as easily of been on the ps2, then and only then i will buy it. So basically, in a year.Originally posted by ExtremeGamerMy point exactly!Comment

Re: US PSP Dated And Priced
I was seriously considering getting it, since I live in NY and I could play during my commute on the train... But now, since hopefully soon I'll be moving to Raleigh, it seems a bit of overkill... Why get the handheld when I can just play on my console in the living room or bedroom?Comment
