It's probably down to the story and the Live. Die. Repeat. cycle but the game never mocks you or makes you feel stupid for failing which keeps me invested. Only one difficulty in the game so it's not an issue here but there's nothing worse than when a game asks do you want to drop down a difficulty level.

Fired this up, 100% expecting to die at the second boss yet again. On today’s first attempt, I beat it with almost no life left to spare. The same thing happened to me with the first boss when I beat it. This game is too intense it’s going to give me a heart attack lol

Friday must be a good luck day cause I also finally beat the second boss as well today. Took on a bunch of parasites as a trade off to be a bit over powered. Had 4 health vials. Almost messed it up by accidentally jumping off the platform as I got antsy when I was almost done with him. Promptly got killed withing 5 minutes of biome 3 by a kamikaze enemy though.

Third boss is probably my favorite one, so you're in for a treat...Fourth boss is a close second. I think the final boss is the only "clunker" of the bunch, but even that one is decent.

Nice! I was in the same boat, where I entered Biome 3 just to see what it was like. I had low health and wanted to stop playing anyways, but I wanted to see what types of enemies awaited me. I progressed a little bit before dying.

I’m going to restrict myself to 1 run/day. The gameplay is just so fun and addicting, that I can’t keep myself from playing this game lol. But to get to all of the other games I’m playing, and also to save myself from some of the frustration, I won’t spend hours each day playing this. I fully expect to fire this up today, trek to the third Biome, and die at some point lol. But I guess over time I’ll learn what the Biome is all about and same with the boss, and eventually beat it. With this approach it might take me a while to finish this game, but I’m cool with that. I’ll keep playing it for the gameplay and also spend most of my gaming time with the other games I want to get through, such as RE Village (which I’m loving) and I might grab the Mass Effect collection too. Always way too many games to play and so little time. But I feel like a little kid again with my Series X, PS5, and LG CX. Just pure gaming bliss.

There are some missable weapons for a playthrough if you don't grab them before the end of an act. I didn't realize I went through my first playthrough without ever seeing the hollowseeker or rotgland lobber. I had to go back to biome 1 and 2 after beating the game to unlock them

This is my Friday to Sunday game when I have more time and can settle in a bit. Might start doing the daily challenges during the week. The runs are short and it's an easy way to get some ether without having to stumble in some the wild.

I didn't realize the challenges gave you ether. I might have to start doing them. Still working my way through the second biome.

Any tips for Biome 3? Those flying droid things just absolutely wreck me every single time they show up. They do so much damage and usually show up in droves and sometimes out of nowhere. I had a run going yesterday where I had a gun I felt comfortable with, a few viles to refill some of my health, and was progressing nicely. I felt like I’d be at the boss at any moment given how long I was in this Biome. Then I went to grab something and a bunch of those drones spawned out of nowhere, and I just got destroyed. So frustrating haha.

I got to the 3rd biome boss battle last night then died. I had the rotgland blaster or whatever it's called and that seemed to work well against the flying droid things. Since it's shoots acid their health drains over time so you can hit a few of them and it will keep them from charging up their shots as quickly. You can cycle through a few of the enemies and it keeps them from immediately dive bombing you.

Beat the boss in Biome 3, damn that feels good. I got all the way to the boss in Biome 4 on my first run through there as well. Had it down to about halfway through its final stage before I died, but I feel pretty confident that the next time I get there I’ll beat it. I had no consumables at all when I got there and still almost beat it, I’ll be ready next time.

Haven’t played this in a few weeks so I decided to fire it up. I was in Biome 4, where I only tried a few runs. I must have just been feeling it today lol. I breezed through the Biome and got to the boss with full health and also a mini astronaut to use. I ended up not even needing the astronaut and I beat the 4th boss. It was an awesome boss and the setting and music just made it even cooler.

Didn’t make it far into Biome 5 but that’s OK I wanted to change to another game anyways. Anytime I beat a Biome I’m cool with shutting this game off for the day and collecting my W lol. But even still to this day, this is just such an amazing game when it comes to gameplay. It’s just pure bliss while you’re on a run. Can definitely get frustrating if you die, depending on your circumstances, but this is such a cool game.

Still stuck on Biome 3 boss months later . I was down to the last half chunk of phase 3 of the battle and died. I also only play it about once every 2 or so weeks now. The thought of put in all that time to possible not progress usually keeps me from Return(al) ing more often.

Well I can reach the final boss pretty consistently now. Had it down to its final phase once and almost beat it. My last run I went pretty well equipped I just didn’t have much life left, and died pretty fast haha. It’s sucks spending the time grinding and leveling up before the final boss only to keep dying haha. I am determined though!
