And I just beat it. Wow what an amazing game. At each boss, it felt like my heart was going to explode through my chest it was beating so fast lol this game is so intense. I know the platinum for this game is hard given the rng element to the game but I enjoy the gameplay so much that I just might go for it.

For anyone that was staying away from this game since you couldn’t save mid-run, now you can via a new update. I want to say it works like Hades, where you can save mid-run and close the game. When you come back to it and fire up that save, it deletes itself.

So if anyone was holding out on playing this game because of this feature being absent, hurry up and play this lol. Such an amazing game!

So 6 months later I've finally beat the 3rd biome boss and have finally finish Act 1.

I did take advantage of the save feature workaround to replay a save after dying but that was prior to getting to the boss fight. Wish I could have done it the correct way but 6 months off and on was just to long to keep the cycle going.

Once I did get the boss I ended up using the rotgland lobber to take him out. Still almost died but managed it on the first run i tried. I had to use 3 small health vials and had an astronaut to revive me.

Still one of the best looking games on PS5 so far.

I just bought the game(waited for save feature and sale). Of course my first death was me killing myself by falling off a ledge lol.

Enjoy the ride! I still need to unlock the true ending and find all of the collectibles. I just haven’t played this game in forever, way too many games to play haha. I’ll get the platinum one day though, this game is amazing.

Picked this up a few days ago after being on the fence for a while — next gen visuals, next gen sound & atmosphere, next gen controller support. Madden, 2K, Ghost of Tshushima & Death Stranding were all nice upgrades coming from PS4 but this game is a showcase piece in basically every facet. Very nice. Happy I paid $50 instead of $70 but very nice.

I don’t play this often anymore. I had been stuck trying to get the true ending forever. Well I randomly decided to play this today and I finally got it, it felt so good lol.

Finally finished this last night Biome 3 boss was honestly the hardest one in the entire game IMO. Still probably the best looking PS5 game right now and the sound design and DualSense control are phenomenal. A great (i believe) first AAA effort from Housemarque.

With that said I'm wasn't a huge fan of the ending.

I don't think it's a bad ending i just don't think it hit me they way they intended. I knew something was up fairly earlier from listening to audio logs and reading the ship logs. However I thought the resolution would still lean more science fiction. I've read a few "explanations" on the ending but they seem to be reaching conclusions based on info which isn't presented to us via the game (or if it was i didn't collect it) or it went over my head.

If I had to rate even with not caring for the ending I'd give it a 8/10

That's the one. My thought was I don't really expect a whole "story" out of this game, more just a sense of a world/atmosphere, and so I think what's here is good. The fact that there is intrigue at all around the story in this genre of game is a cool accomplishment all on its own.

Fair point and that's pretty much the reason I still think it's a good game. It's more about the journey. The why? of the loop never really mattered, I was more interested in how the loop would get broken.

I guess I either needed the ending to be extremely ambiguous or full out Hideo Kojima mini movie cutscenes type of ending. To me it ends up somewhere in the middle.

This game might be one of my favorite and also most hated games ever.

The conceit is wearing thin after hours of playing and making zero progress.

Not sure how much longer I want to continue putting myself through this madness when I’ve got games like Ghosts of Tsushima and Horizon to play. You know, ones that you actually feel a sense of accomplishment after playing for a few hours.
