my tv doesnt support 720p only 480p and 1080i. Are the games gonna be in 1080i? I really hope so though, dragons lair 3d looks amazing in 1080i

Alot will probably support 1080i. 720p is just the minimum requirement.

This is still all specualtion though, but it's fun to talk about. From the article

Yea its all subject to change but I think what we're seeing will stick. If Sony has more system memory etc... I exepct MS to match it in a heart beat.

About 720p, I'm happy this was my main focus when I bought my HDTV. I made sure my set supported all resolutions natively.

True HD gaming is going to be sick.

I refuse to have more than one game system... currently I'm an xboxer. But do y'all think that the PS3 will be much better?

I'm sure these games will support 480i(standard TV). But to tell you the truth to really live it up and get the most out of PS3/Xbox 2 an HDTV is the way to go. I don't watch tv other than sports. I bought an HDTV mainley for next gen gaming, its worth so far even for current gen games.

I'm sure these games will support 480i(standard TV). But to tell you the truth to really live it up and get the most out of PS3/Xbox 2 an HDTV is the way to go. I don't watch tv other than sports. I bought an HDTV mainley for next gen gaming, its worth so far even for current gen games.

There's no need to buy an hd-tv until more channels support it and until the prices go down. No company would be stupid enough to require hdtv to play games until more people are able to afford them.

Users with standard televisions needn't worry; 16:9 content will be letterboxed to fit within a 4:3 aspect ratio by default. Developers are being instructed to make sure that any critical text will fit into and look good in 4:3.
