No hardware details, and no surprise there, but, some stuff on software. Footage of Xenon UI comming up soon.

Oh, one quote from Allard on hardware though, Xenon will be doing over 1 teraflop.

Also concrete first details on Xenon

One more thing Microsoft gave away 1,000 Samsung HDTV's to the crowd.

1 Teraflop? I know a little about computers, and know that is phenominal, but can someone enlighten me on just how fast that is?

I'd be shocked if I knew what a teraflop is. So what IS a teraflop?

My goodness it just keeps getting better and better for Xenon. Still got E3 for the really big stuff.

The Cell can process 256 billion calculations per second (256 gigaflops), falling a wee bit short of marketing hyperbole calling it a "supercomputer on a chip." The slowest machine on the current list of the Top 500 supercomputers can do 851 gigaflops
WHOOOOOOOA!! If the Xenon processor can process over 1 teraflop per second, that would mean it would rival some mid-leveled supercomputers!! Just for future reference, a teraflop is bigger than a gigaflop. That means if Sony's Cell chip only does 256 gigaflops, and Xenon does 1 teraflop, that would make Xenon a much......MUCH more powerful machine!!!

I wouldn't really put to much stock in it, it's hype. All you need to know is it's going to be a monster, and the specs will be a little higher than what Gamespy is projecting.

Also this isn't just the CPU, it's the GPU and CPU combined to create more than 1 teraflop, which is what Allard said.

im just wondering if game companies are gonna be able to untilize the machines power. i mean the ps2 finally has games like GT4 and look how long it took for them to make games capable of that. im just hoping when the new x-box comes out the games will be a whole lot better than the current x-box and not look like slight upgrades and not take them 2+ years to know how to build games around its power.
