Not sure how to sign up, but interested in hearing your feedback on the game. Anyone know the pricing model on the game?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
Woah, I never said I was in it, that would break the NDA
From what I can tell, their plan is $15 a month after a retail boxed purchase. That's something I have never, and will never, do. I have a sort of philosophical aversion to paying money for a game that I then have to pay to play.

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I'm the opposite and I've always explained this theory to friends and they think I am crazy but hear me out. Whenever I buy a new MMO I am buying the game and the month sub. I know on that month I will be playing that game and only that game so I won't spend anything else because that money will be committed. If I reup for another month (or more) then that is my gaming money. $15 a month for me is great considering some months I go into the hundreds rather easily.Woah, I never said I was in it, that would break the NDA

I use to play WoW for about a year straight. Best idea ever for my budget!
I'm hoping I enjoy ESO the same. Will save a ton!Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I was this way before, but the fact that I usually buy a new arcade game every month, i'd rather play ESO. What did everyone think of the beta? I missed out on it even though I had an invite...Woah, I never said I was in it, that would break the NDA

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I'm the same. Before I got into the MMO scene I was dead set against paying for the box and then paying a monthly sub on top of that, after playing Shadowbane years ago I learned how good of a deal it is to spend that $15 a month for something that occupies so much of my gaming time.I'm the opposite and I've always explained this theory to friends and they think I am crazy but hear me out. I definitely like it over the cash shop models that have been hitting the market lately. I would rather pay a flat fee and have access to all content rather than a Pay-to-win model that some cash shops enforce.Comment

It’s that time again! Get ready to check your email and see if you made it into The Elder Scrolls Online beta.
We’re greeting the new year with a round of beta invites. Check your registered email address to find out if you received one, and don’t forget to look in your spam folder just in case. Remember, if you use Gmail, our invites will be automatically filtered to the “promotions” tab.
The beta is getting bigger as launch approaches, and we can’t wait to see everyone’s feedback. If you don’t receive your invite today, don’t worry—you’ll have more chances to explore Tamriel before launch. When we send out invites, we post here and on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, so follow us on your favorite site to make sure you don’t miss an announcement.
Thank you for all your enthusiasm about testing ESO!

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I have no idea what their budget is (rumored $200 million, unsubstantiated), what their investment situation looks like (in terms of 'break even' numbers or how fast they'll be looking for a return on investment) or the business side of things...
But this seems to me that it will be an MMO that will go free-to-play within a short timeframe... and that is NOT a compliment.badComment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
This will be worse than the SWTOR. I cant even think of anything they can offer on the F2P front that will get people to spend money on it. Once NDA drops and everyone can post opinions and videos, box sales will plummet.I have no idea what their budget is (rumored $200 million, unsubstantiated), what their investment situation looks like (in terms of 'break even' numbers or how fast they'll be looking for a return on investment) or the business side of things...

Their best bet is to stop with all the beta keys going out, and release so that the uninformed can rush out to buy the game before the word gets out.
It will capture a lot of box sales based off of the name, but that's as far as it will go. Negative word of mouth will tank this game hard.Comment
