    Re: Elder Scrolls Online

Sure glad that I didn't buy this when I almost did, spent all day yesterday in queue for a dungeon and never got in. That's not an exaggeration, I got into the game about 10 am, finally gave up around 11 pm. It seems imperative you find a sizable guild that will have people online to help get you through these 4 people dungeons or you could be stuck.

They've definitely made some improvements, I'll probably still rent it and check it out further once the console versions release, maybe the console versions will attract a larger crowd.

      Re: Elder Scrolls Online

Hey fellas, can someone give me like a quick preview of how the game is? My only MMO experience is WOW, which I liked for a time, I played it for about a year, was fun then I sort of got burned out. I still get the itch to get back into it every now and again, but I feel like its changed so much Id be lost.

In any case Im thinking about getting this on PS4, how is it compared to WOW? Like do you go around getting quests like wow? are there like pets/mounts/gear, auction house type stuff or is it more like playing skyrim with a bunch of other people? If I go on, are there like other people on the servers, or is it limited to only a handful of people actually in the game you are in?

        Re: Elder Scrolls Online

I can't compare it to WOW (only played like a week of WOW), but can give my impressions.

        1. Taking quests feels a lot like quests in Skyrim, you'll see an icon in your compass that is highlighted, and you go talk/interact and accept the quest. There isn't a whole lot of stationary "quest despensers", if a single person gives multiple quests they will move around.

        2. There are pets and mounts, mounts are pricey though.

        3. There were guild stores, not quite sure exactly how people were putting things in the stores to sell, but there were also a lot of people selling stuff just through the zone chat. No auctions

        4. It feels more like playing an Elder Scrolls game online than it did at launch, a more reasonable mix of the single player games and MMO conventions.

        5. Not sure what they limit the player count on with their instanced main world thing they do, but it's enough to see plenty of people in town, but not so much that you never feel alone when you are running around the woods.

Playing the game I wasn't having a horrible time, until I tried to/had to play with someone else. Finding and joining a guild with lots of active players feels like a must. Trying to use the in game group finder was an annoying frustrating waste of time.

Will I be able to Gamefly this now that there is no subscription service? Just curious if I'll need to actually purchase the game for a code to start playing?

It's buy to play, not free to play, so you have to buy the core game (or rent it from Gamefly).

Oh I gotcha, I always miss out on this stuff lol. Probably cause I only get Gaming news from OS, and nowhere else, unless its a sports game, I don't know it even exists until someone at OS makes a post about it.

Where I ended up at the end of the console beta:

Aside from a couple of niggling complaints, it all went well. The game is much better than the original PC beta and is just about where you would expect a blend of Elder Scrolls and MMO to fall. Obviously I haven't touched endgame, but 2 of the 3 stories are pretty good.

Over the last year, I've gone from can't wait, to definitely skipping out, and now back to can't wait. Hopefully I'll be able to play with some of you guys, but my schedule is always an issue minus the weekends.

I've wanted to get back into this on pc after playing (and paying) for a few months at launch. I have a few days to take advantage of the $20 transfer/digital copy for ps4.

I'm only a little hesitant because of The Witcher 3. That may take my RPG itch. I've really wanted to get back into this tho. It's so much better with friends
