Re: Elder Scrolls Online
Imperials are a race. They can be in any of the factions (Daggerfall Covenant, Aldmeri Dominion, or Ebonheart Pact).
Normally, specific races are parts of each faction. Daggerfall is Breton, Redguard, and Orcs. Aldmeri Dominion is High Elves, Khajiit, and Wood Elves. Ebonheart Pact are Nords, Dark Elves, and Argonians.
Imperials can fill into any of those, to help clear that up (possibly). There's also an upgrade you can buy to use any race in any faction, so you're really not locked into anything, assuming you pay them for the 'upgrade'. It's slightly shady, but not a big deal IMO.
If you didn't preorder the imperial edition, there's also an upgrade you can buy from the store for Crowns, which you'd buy with $$$.
I had no issues downloading and getting online last night with it, so that was surprising. I played through the tutorial again and it got to be too late for my old ***, but I'll dig into this tonight as I played the PC version a bit, and then decided to wait to really play in depth until it released on consoles. Didn't know I'd be waiting this long, though.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I'm trying to log in now, but I can't get on. They finished maintenance on Euro servers so I guess they are still working on NA servers.
We are investigating a login issue that some players are experiencing on the console megaservers.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 06-09-2015, 12:07 PM.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
The framerate is a little suspect at times, but there seems to be a ton of ish to do. I spent some time doing a little blacksmithing and think that will be my trade. I just logged off because my headphones were running out of juice. Hopefully, I can log back on tonight.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I've never played MMORPG before, but I am a huge Skyrim/Fall Out fan, so basically anything Bethesda does I love.
Maybe I answered my own question, but if I like those games, will I like this? Is it pretty similar to playing Skyrim, but just online? Quests, dungeon crawling, etc?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I relate to your situation, I had to answer this because you sound a lot like me.I've never played MMORPG before, but I am a huge Skyrim/Fall Out fan, so basically anything Bethesda does I love.

One thing to keep in mind, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, but the Bethesda team that actually makes the Elder Scrolls games weren't involved in this, it was made by Zenimax.
I bought it when the game first came out, had it pre-ordered and committed to a 3 month subscription to start. I played it for about three weeks before cancelling the sub.
Like you, I love Bethesda and everything they put out. I couldn't wait for this one. I expected a sequel to Skyrim but that was never what the game was intended to be.
I am considering giving it another shot since I can play it for free now since I already have the game purchased from release.
Here's what I can say.
Had they never had a subcription plan, I probably would have kept playing it from the beginning. I feel it is a good game, but not worthy of an epic MMO style subscription fee.
I quit before the game released its first big content patch which added endgame stuff as well as the justice system. I logged in just to run around a little the other night and it definitely felt a lot more like an Elder Scrolls game than before.
If you are expecting a step up from Skyrim, you will be disappointed, in my humble opinion.
If you are looking for a game that kinda feels like Oblivion did on 360 but with some teaming up/interactions with other players here and there, you will probably get your moneys worth. I feel pretty confident they will continue adding things on top of the justice system and more guild content to make it feel more and more like a fully realized Elder Scrolls game.
TL-DR
To me, it feels like an older Elder Scrolls game (like a cross between Morrowind and Oblivion) with online aspects. With no subcription fee, I don't see why an Elder Scrolls fan shouldn't give it a shotLast edited by The JareBear; 06-09-2015, 05:14 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
