Saw a few illegal streams of this on Twitch this morning. From what I witnessed, it made me sad and I will easily pass on the title.

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
Yep.This will be worse than the SWTOR. I cant even think of anything they can offer on the F2P front that will get people to spend money on it. Once NDA drops and everyone can post opinions and videos, box sales will plummet.
Their best bet is to stop with all the beta keys going out, and release so that the uninformed can rush out to buy the game before the word gets out.
It will capture a lot of box sales based off of the name, but that's as far as it will go. Negative word of mouth will tank this game hard.
Proving the point that if you have to hide your game behind an NDA it's destined for failure/to be a flop.
Not really the time or place for it, but NDAs are terrible for gaming at large.badComment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
For name brand along Elder Scrolls can't come near the name value of Star Wars and won't sell nearly as many boxed copies as The Old Republic did. Throw in a subscription and that is that. Why did Bethesda not just develop Elder Scrolls 5 for next gen??Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
They are making Elder Scrolls 5, Bethesda has nothing to do with ESO at all, its Zenimax.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
It's definitely not a great MMO, and it's not a great Elder Scrolls game (well, it's an Elder Scrolls game muddled by MMO trappings). It's not as bad as people make it out to be though. I won't pay for it, or at least won't pay $60+, I'd pay for a month at most because that's all it seems the game has in it. But that's also saying I'd only pay $15 so....yeah.Comment

Looks pretty good here. I haven't played in the beta obviously since I'm on the PS4, so I can only go off of videos I've seen.Comment

The Elder Scrolls Online on PS4 Won't Require PS Plus: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/01/...equire-ps-plus
The Elder Scrolls Online can be played without a PS Plus subscription, according to the game's director.
Matt Firor took to the PS Blog to confirm that PS4 users will only have to pay the same monthly subscription fee that PC and Mac users will pay, and no more.
<iframe src="http://widgets.ign.com/video/embed/content.html?url=http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/12/11/news-the-elder-scrolls-online-release-date-announced" width="468" height="263" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Elsewhere in the post, Firor confirmed that PS4 players would be on either European or North American servers, and that they will be on separate servers to PC users. He also confirmed a beta would be coming to the console, and more details would be announced in due course.
There's currently no definitive word on whether Xbox One users will have to be Xbox Live Gold subscribers in order to play the game in addition to paying Bethesda's monthly sub fees.
The Elder Scrolls Online will launch later this year with an M rating in North America. One of the more controversial aspects is its sub fee, which we mused about last week.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
I think having separate servers for PC and consoles, is kind of stupid considering that the PS4 and XBone should have enough power for there not to be any disadvantage between the two platforms. Especially after FF14 successfully pulled it off on the PS3."Lurking Since 2002"

Re: Elder Scrolls Online
This summer/fall is going to be bonkers. I'm really excited for ESO, The Witcher, Mordor, and I'll still be playing The Show I'm sure.
I'm quietly holding out hope that ESO will wind up being great, as I've got a group of friends on the PS4 that are all getting it.Comment
