Was able to play this Sunday healing some dungeons but this game really needs some type of text chat. I know they have the emotes but thats not enough. I wish they add that in the future because there are times I can't use the headset. Also, I wish they would show the amount of damage you are hitting or amount of healing you are doing per cast. I know you can get add-ons to show this on PC but it would be nice on console.

Thats my only minor gripes, besides that its a really fun game.

The days of text chatting in MMORPGs are long gone.

I used to do it all the time back in the day on the first Everquest (pc). But that was because their really wasn't a means for voice communication back then.

They aren't ever going back to that. You can buy a cheap mic for $20 or so.

I'm guessing from how he worded it that he has a headset but there are time when he can't use it (Wife sleeping next to him, etc)

Also text chat could work if they do it like Rocket League where they have pre rendered messages that you can access on the fly.

Exactly why, sometimes I play late at night when my family is asleep & I can't get too loud, but I guess thats a personal problem. You can do pre-rendered messages like Rocket League, just hold down right button. I guess I have to look into more of what can be added. I understand that text chat is a thing of the past, I'll just tell the wife & son to sleep with ear plugs. lol

I still want the scrolling damage/healing bar to see how much I'm actually doing while I'm fighting to see if I'm pulling my own weight...

Nah man I get it and totally understand. Didn't really think it thru but your reasons are valid.

I guess a type of chat could be implemented. It just seems that hardly any console games would try to utilize such a feature.

I used to have to be quiet as wife and baby slept. I then moved my system to the living room, I occasionally get yelled because I'm being to loud on the mic haha. I definitely want to see how much damage I'm doing. That would be a welcome addition. Fallout 4 is supposed to support mods at some point when it comes out, maybe ESO can piggy back.

Candy I respec'd and used the crystal shard morph with the chance for insta cast. How do I know it's been proc'd? It doesn't look different for me sometimes it just casts instantly and others it doesn't

My next character will be on Daggerfall so I can join up with you guys. My main is on Aldy Dominion as that's where my personal friends play. I'm assuming you're all on PS4?

I'm thinking of making a two handed DPS. Not sure on the race.

For me I use the lightning spell that comes out of the sky and is cheap. It's the finisher that kills enemies that are 20% or less health. Mages wrath or something.

I noticed that crystal shard will be sparkling and your health bar will glow when proc'ed. That's when you can instant cast it. It also makes a distinct ding sound.

3 negatives to it though:

1: When you buffed and such you health bar glows as well so it interferes with you seeing the proc.

2. The ding sound is hard to hear when fighting mobs and such. I never messed with the sound options so not sure if you can fix that.

3. The sparkle over crystal shard can be very hard to see sometimes.

I learned that most of the time I get the proc every 4 Mages wrath (or whatever it's called) casts.

Is that a thing? I'm nowhere near 50 though with my main. I'm only level 18.

In a way yes. It depends on the faction and such. There's a rotation that each faction does and you can't skip. Not sure the rotation though.

Like fo example at level 50 we might go to AD while AD goes to ebonhart and etc.
