I've just found that drinking water is what's best for you... I've gotten so used to it, that I don't drink anything else anymore. And you know what... I feel great!

As for the diet soda's.... from what I've read, you may want to cut down on those as well. Studies are starting to show that diet soda's in the long term, are actually worse for you, as you will start gaining weight big time, one of the side effects of something in them. i can't remember. I'll look for the article.
I think i've read some of the stuff u've talked about...I've read that there doing studies and such so i have tried to limit myself i will say that on Diet soda's...I guess as long as i keep eating good and losing weight for right now I'll stick with the Diet Soda's But Just drink less...I try to get some running exercise in bout 15 mins a day but itz not a e3very day thing..Im sure if i did I could lose more weight and Get my body in better shape...
6'4 191 lbs...dang I'd have to imagine ur right at being pretty skinny..I guess it all depends on where most of ur weight would go..But thatz a big man...Play sports with that size?Let's Get Ready To Rumble!Comment

As far as where the fat goes... right to the midsection. That is the only problem I have. It was right under my chin, and the spare tire aruond the midsection. But that is all starting to come off now.
I'm sure that diet soda's aren't horrible for you, but I've just completely cut them out as well. Before, I was drinking soda like crazy... then I made the effort to drink nothing but diet... now, I have one every 1-2 weeks... but that's it. I will make an effort to cut that out as well. I guess it just keeps me balanced, lol.Twitter - WTF_OS

I was so unhappy at that time. I've now hovered right around the 198 mark for the past 6-7 months, but have since changed my workout routine and more eating habbits, and man, I have seen some major results.

Thatz awesome man ..Yea i've lost 35 pounds as of right now in bout 2 1/2 months and the doctor i go see for it all says Diet Soda's arent bad for gettin fat or anything but he pointed out to us some things about them that could be bad in the future kinda like u spoke of...I think what he told us was as long as u dont convince urself Ur on a diet b/c u drink them and dont over do them it should be fine, I asked him another quesiton on diet drinks b/c most ppl will say ya know 3 diet drinks = just 1 normal coke, He said that besides the Sodium u take in that 1 normal Mellow Yellow is way worse then drinking any diet soda.
He did mention tho about the research You are speaking of "WTF" when i saw him prob last time was a month ago and he said For now They should be fine for me But if Something changes in the research He would know....Like he tells me tho and Most are saying...Just drink water and you really dont need anything else to drink ...the more u do that better u will feel

Here's the weekly update... I'm still making progress despite having 16 beers for Super Bowl weekend.... With that being said... I've decided to give up alcohol for the month to see how much gains I can actually make.

Only dissapointment was that I couldn't reach 15.0" inches total this week, I came up .3" short. Oh well I'm hoping next week that changes. I think I really need to start hitting my abs more and doing more intensive cardio to drop down in waist size, but I'm glad this is somewhat of a challenge, it keeps me motivated. Re: best way to tone up?
Man, so far, you've made some significant losses. Especially around the Waist. That's absolutely astounding. Are you seeing any definition starting to form? I'm happy for you. Now, just start doing some hardcore cardio... that's where I'm at right now. Starting to run 3 miles every other night... with less intensive workouts every other day.Twitter - WTF_OS

That's great work Superstar. It's so fulfulling when you start to see results. Once you do, there's no turning back! Working out and eating right becomes addicting."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Unfortunately no, I'm not seeing any definition around the waist. I've always been the type even when skinny to be flabby around the midsection. Case in point I was 5'10" 120 in the 7th grade I still had flab arond my waist! A lot of people are sayig I have too much excess skin aroun my waist and that the only way I'll see abs is if I go in for surgery. Well I'm going to wait till I'm about 170ish before I cross that bridge, because if by that time I don't have abs but still have massive love handles and gut then I think it will be time to look into the surgery route. Yeah I'm really happy with my progress but I know now it will be probably be slow and steady gains instead of the massive gains each week. Thanks again for the support.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: best way to tone up?
Exactly.. once those results start showing, that's when it really kicks in. Trust me, I know. I was so discouraged because I was working out occassionally, and eating decent, but no results. I kicked up my effort 10 fold, and man, now I can see the results. In the past week, I've lost 1.5" off my waist, and a few more lbs.Twitter - WTF_OS

Monday: Upper
Bench- 4 sets of 6
Dumbell bench- 4 sets of 10
Dumbell Shoulder Press- 4 sets of 6
Preacher Curls with the bench press bar... called 21's... 7 upper, 7 lower, and 7 full body curls... we also do them burnout style, so do a set, partner does a set, and you keep passing it back and forth. 3 sets of 21's.
Side Abs- This machine that you twist with your trunk works the side abs- 3 sets of 10 at 150 pounds
Lower abs- What you do is lay on pad and have a weight on the floor, your legs are hanging from machine.... Usually I have a 35 on the ground and I pick it up... much like a Superman, where you stretch up and it works your lower back and lower abs.- 3 sets of 10 with 35 pound weight.
Full body abs- Machine where you buckle yourself in with a belt and it has a foot pedal which lowers the bar down... You bring the bar down with your arms and it works your entire abs...-3 sets of 10 at about 130 pounds.
Cardio- 25 minutes on eliptical... lose about 350 calories each time.
Tuesday: Lower
Leg Press- 3 sets of 10 at 320 pounds
Quad machine... 4 sets of 10 at 150 pounds
Hamstring machine.... 4 sets of 10 at 150 pounds
calf raises- 3 sets of 10 at 140
leg spreader... or that's what I call it, works outer and inner thigs.... 3 sets of 20 at 140 pounds...
Same abs routine as Monday
Cardio- 15 minutes on eliptical... lose about 200 calories each time.
Wednesday: Cardio and Abs
Same ab routine as Monday and Tuesday
Cardio- 30 minutes on eliptical.... lose about 400 calories each time.
Thursday: Same routine as Monday
Friday: Same routine as Tuesday
Saturday: Same routine as Wednesday
Sunday: Off...
So I stay pretty busy... I think if I keep this up for at least another couple months the results will really show. People who haven't seen me in a while always comment that I've lost weight, I guess you just don't notice it as much when you see yourself everyday.
Also I'm planning to keep exercise a huge part of my life, but once I hit certain goals, I'm probably gonna scale back my routine a little bit, don't want to burn out on exercising.http://flotn.blogspot.com

At first when you begin working out, your muscles are building stamina more than anything else. I started working out in January, and after the first day I was so sore. No way I could work out again the next day. But as soon as I felt better, I did it again. Eventually, the soreness and tiredness between workouts lessened, and I was able to work out basically daily, with the weights going up fast.
Now if I could only stay motivated, I was doing good...but now I haven't touched a weight in five days. I'm horrible...Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II
