    2) Vertical leap: 5 inches male (3 female)

    3) Pushups: 15 male (3 female)

    4) Toe Touch: You should be able to reach at least 6 inches from your toes.

    5) wall squat: should be able to hold it for 1 minute

    6) Bicep Curls: should be able to do 10 reps of 20 pounds if male (10 reps of 8 pounds for female).

    7) ab test: should be able to do 25 in and outs. (but on the ground, chest up and feet out, then bring chest and thighs together).
Cool thanks for that mate. I can handle all of those pretty easily except the pull ups (i could do 3 but i would be able to do many more than that i don't think).

From seeing some the footage it does seem crazy intense, i can see why people get so sore when they are starting out.

    EDIT:

Holy **** check out this dudes transformation in 90 days:

Day 1 Stats 187.5 lbs 35.5" waist, 17.5% body fat
    Day 90 Stats: 167lbs, 31.5?waist, 6.1% Body fat

After that it's mostly balance stuff, that isn't nearly as laborous, though some of the positions seem impossible unless you have done it for a long period of time...watch out for the crain!!!

There is also nice little ab workout in the second half. It's only about 5 or 6 minutes, but it's tough.

The last 10 minutes is cake. A lot of simple positions just laying down and stuff...not much to it.

If you get past the first 45 minutes, you've got it made.
what he said. i usually start feeling sleepy too as the stretches start around 20 mins left in the yoga workout. the pushups are sweet for increasing your muscle stamina. when i finished up the 90 days i was easily doing over 400 pushups and about 150 pullups during the chest and back workout. stick with it for the full 90 days and you will see crazy results. i didn't even follow the diet plan and lost over 30 lbs...

Wow thats crazy! I guess thats why I've lost 5 lbs so fast. Im only in the 7th day! Im following the diet to the "T", so I guess thats why I lost weight so fast. When I started I was 199 & this morning when I got on the scale it said 194. For those that have completed the 90 days do you recommend me doing the stretch x or just resting?

i alternated between the rest and the x-stretch. i'd rest one week, do the workout the next. it seriously is VERY relaxed tho. i'd do it to see how you like it, it isn't too bad, but is kinda long. i was shocked with the push-ups myself. i have the perfect push-up counter and use that when i do the p90x workouts. the first week i would start out doing sets of like 20-25 early in a workout and 15-20 at the end. my last week of p90x i would EASILY rack out sets of atleast 40 push-ups straight through the entire workout...

2 weeks in to the P90-X lean program and I've lost 10 pounds and I'm starting to see the beginnings of a 4 pack. Most of that 10 pounds is probably water weight but I'll take it. The hardest part for me is not the workouts, which are very hard, but not eating whatever I want, and having to measure portions and count calories. But it's all worth it, especially if I can get my blood pressure under control.

For all you guys using P90x what do you use for weights? Should I get dumbbells or resistance bands? I already have the iron gym extreme pull-up bar, but what else should I get? Resistance bands are pretty cheap but will it give me the same workout as dumbbells?

I would recommend dumbbells if you can afford them.

Yeah, I think you get a lot more out of dumbbells. You can get an adjustable set anywhere from $200-$600 depending on what brand and where you purchase them. Bowflex has two sets of selecttech adjustable dumbbells...the 552 (5-52 pounds each) or the 1090's (10-90 pounds each), but you're looking at $450-$700 for a set with a stand. There are a lot of other similar sets that are much cheaper...I picked up mine from Sports Authority for $250. They go from 10-50 pounds in 5 pound incraments.

This is the set I have...

Looks like it may be sold out at Sports Authority now.

If I actually picked up every set of these at $1 a pound it would be $540 for a set of each incrament.

If you are in no rush, you can probably get lucky and pick up a set of actual dumbbells on craigslist or at a garage sale on in your local classifieds and save some money.

I know the bands are cheaper, but your going to be forced to do a lot more reps to get the burn you get from acutal weights. My co worker is using bands and feels like he could be getting a lot more out of it.

That's what I did several years back and saved a ton of money. I got 5lbs-55lbs and paid $150 I believe. They are real beat up but hell, weight is weight.

Yea it was my first day doing it, so I spent too much time trying to figure out the RIGHT way to do each exercise. Next time I will be fine. At the end I did some P90X Ab ROutines to supplement.

Probably will do Spinning today; I feel bad I hate a P-Zone last night

Well I'm about to go to the gym in a few minutes after taking a week off while I was in Jamaica. I feel like a lost a bit of weight but it's mostly water weight which shouldn't be hard to put back on.

I think the week off should have done body good since I went like 16 weeks straight, 3-4 times a week.

Just a question for people who lift and take breaks from lifting?

when you take a sustained break from lifting do you feel smaller, or bigger, or really no change. Whenever I take a substantial break from lifting (week or more) I get this feeling that I'm getting smaller, or losing muscle. It's probably just in my head, some of my friends tell me it's actual beneficial for your muscles to get a decent rest period... as long as your still somewhat active and move your muscles can't atrophy.
