    Chronic Technology Buyer Support Group

Well, the title says it all. After EG and I were talking earlier, I feel that this thread should be part of OS as a way to "help" others in the same situation as myself.

The first step is admitting you have a problem, and the next step, is finding others who share the same problem. I know, that if we all band together, we can find a cure... or at least share what we've purchased lately, lol.

Anyway, I'm sure that candyman56, FootballForever, and ExtremeGamer should be part of this group, if they can admit their problem. Remember guys, Da Nile is not just a river in Egypt.

So, what have you purchased lately? Would you recommend it? I'll let someone else start out, and I'll chime in after my haul tomorrow

Hi, I'm Will... and I'm a Chronic Technology buyer....

LOL... Besides game systems, I don't buy any technology. My HDTV is 2 1/2 years old, my other one is 4 years old. My home theater is 3 1/2 years old. My DVD player is 4 years old. My MP3 player is 2 years old.

Sorry man, besides gaming, I'm out of the club

LOL, Oh I know I'm nuts with gaming systems and games. I just don't buy many DVD's and the rest a/v of my stuff is older, and I have no reason to upgrade. I've looked at new TV's, but nothing still can touch my picture on my TV to me, so I have no reason to. My home theater rocks to me, and it's a small receiver (about the size of a dvd player, but does not have a dvd player in it). I just love the sound of it. None of my stuff is perfect, but I'm very happy with it all.

Now remodeling my house, that's another story...LOL

You crack me up bro, there alone you have bought enough **** in 1 yr that some people take in 4-5 years to buy. LOL! + you have the HD-DVD player which means movies.

              Ok my turn.

Last year I bought 2 HDTV's LCD's, games + both next gen systems, a Dell Pocket PC, and DVD's. Other than that, I haven't spent any other money on things. I didn't do much remodeling to my house like I did in '04 and '05 which a good portion of my money went to then.

My main TV is almost 4 years old, the DVD player hooked up to it is 3.5 yrs old, and my receiver is 3.5 years old. Only AV centric thing that I do want to replace in 2007 is my stereo receiver, I want that Sony I had posted last week due to the component switch box being built in + 6.1 EX DTS.

                Hi Candy... lol.

I agree... Scott is in denial. At least we can move forth, while he's stuck denying it.

Anyway, I guess now's as good of a time as any... After telling myself I would NOT buy the PS3, I bought one last week. Very happy about it too. It's a nice machine overall, and I can't say right now I'm dissappointed.

I've also purchased 2 TV's since last Christmas, one being the 32" LG LCD that is currently in the bedroom, and the 61" Sammy DLP 1080p that is in the living room. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my Sammy, but it feels a little large in size right now. My uncle wants to buy it, and where I got a REALLY good deal on it, I'd end up coming out ahead if I sell it to him. But right now, nothing really floats my boat enough to purchase another TV.

I am going tomorrow to pick up a bunch of BluRay's.. so it's quite possible that I'll find something tomorrow.... but it's highly doubtful. I like the LCD's... so I may go that route... but most likely, I'll keep my Sammy.

Anyway... enough about that.. I'll be upgrading my receiver and whole sound setup when tax time rolls around. I paid in quite a bit this year, just so I could get quite a bit back. I guess it's my version of a savings plan, only I don't have to worry abuot spending it. lol. That receiver you posted is mighty nice though. I'm going to look at some while I'm out.

I'm waiting for tax time also, to get that receiver. I'm hoping that in a few months it will be cheaper in price.

I feel like I belong here also.

I bought a PSP and never used it...sold it back...

And bought one again six months later...which I never used. (Thankfully my Mrs uses it a fair bit)

I also almost bought a PS3 the other day. Despite it not having a single game I want and me already being happy with my 360.

I found it hard just to walk past it.

                    Help me fellas.

                    Monk.

Hi, I'm Favre4vr and I am a chronic tech buyer **pauses for hellos***

                      Since May of 06, I have bought a 360, a PS3, 3 LCD Tv's, an IPOD, an HP CPU Monitor...I think I am done.

Gentleman, I have a problem. After each purchase I had some buyer's remorse, but kept them anyway...The PS3 remorse was tough, but fellow OS addicts helped me through my issue.

I hope the group accepts me. LOL

I don't know if I qualify or not, but by next week I'll be adding my third HDTV to the house (an LCD for the master bedroom) to go along with my XBox 360 and a PS3 I'm picking up later in the month.

What makes it worse is that I have a six year old son that I use as an excuse to feed my technology weakness. I bought him a PSP for Christmas that I've played more than he has and he has digital cable, a 27" flat screen TV and an XBox in his room.

Did I mention that I have a Philips Pronto remote control buried in a box somewhere downstairs that I haven't touched in over a year?

Hi fellas, lol.. You've admitted a problem, and now you're here. That's a good thing.

I also bought a digital scale the other day, that sends a low dose of elctric through your body, and comes back and gives you your Body fat %. This, I feel, is a worthy purchase. I am getting ready to put the batteries in it to see what it reads. If it's anything over 12%, it's a lying piece of junk...

Your obituary is going to be pretty embarassing for your family when it reads: WTF was found lying naked in his bathroom with charred feet by co-workers who grew concerned after he didn't show up for work on consecutive days.
