I'd easily be in your club.......if I had more money, LOL. But its hard to make these kind of purchases off student loans

My buying philsophy is that unless it is for education, a car, or a home, I refuse to buy things that I can't pay for comfortably in full. I refuse to go into credit card debt. I wouldn't even consider those special "0% interest for a year" or "now payments till whenever" deals.

That said, i do have a Wii, ipod nano, and a treo 700 (but thats for school!)

I'll be in this club soon...right after I graduate. This is my last semester and I can't wait to get a HUGE TV that looks great, especially for sports and gaming.

I'm definitely moving in the right direction with my recent purchases in the last year [iPod nano + in-car player, MacBook Pro, XBOX 360]

I'm so tired of my 20" TV with no HD. But I can't get a new one until I graduate.

If I had the money, I would be in this group no doubt.

I'd be buying movies, games, systems, a TV, maybe a DVD recorder...

Alas, I have no money so I won't introduce myself.

Easy solution for you guys. Your wallets will still be the way they are now, not heavier. All you have to do is send that money that you would usually use on technology to me. I won't use it. I will just "hold" on to it to make sure you guys don't use it on a new HDTV, like Squint.

On a more serious note, just like longhorn, if I had the money I would have al the new stuff. As of now, I have a 32" SDTV, a cheap MP3 player that we got free from AMEX, and a 360 where I can only afford to own 2 games at once. Sad, I know.

            Smart decision champ...keep to it.

Ten years back I was 10 grand in debt on visa cards. Trust me, you never want to go there.

Agreed, I don't use credit cards, if you can keep that up, and get yourself financially stable, you can enjoy spoiling yourself with electronics or whatever, and still have no debt.

That's the boat my wife and I are in right now, and I must say, it's very nice. We don't own a house yet, and won't until I get into a job that signs me to a contract, but we have no debt. We own both of our cars. And while we couldn't necessarily go out and get the biggest TV, we did manage a 32" LCD that we were able to pay for in full at the time of purchase.

Having no debt is underrated, for sure. It makes you sleep a lot easier at night.

My wife and I refuse to use credit as well. Every once in a while we open a card and pay it off the next bill and then close it. It just keeps our credit "fresh" as our financial guy says.

If Will comes back with half a dozen blu ray films that he already has on dvd...and he's paid $30-40 each for them...

Then I'm afraid we may have 'lost' him. He may just be beyond saving.

If you're out there Will...reading this on a lap top or something at the Mall...stay strong bro.

:y4: I have returned fellas. Sadly, I did not buy half a dozen BluRay dvd's... I did however buy:

                          Crank
                          House of Flying Daggers
                          Talladega Nights
                          Black Hawk Down
                          Kung Fu Hustle

But two of those were buy one get one free, so I only spent around $60 today on BluRay

I think I handled myself very well. I looked at some TV's, and the receiver candy, is freakin awesome. It was a little bigger than what I was wanting, but I may get it at tax time. Who knows. Anyway, I didn't have any of those movies on DVD monk, lol... so I guess I made it through the day, or this far anyway.

I did however get a chance to play around with a Zune... those things are pretty nice, as well as a PSP. PSP's are nice, but I doubt I'll get one. Zune on the other hand, may be next...

Should have bought the DVD for Talladega Nights, since most of us got it free with our PS3's, we could have told you the transfer is crap.

Yeah, I should have...that's what I've read anyway. I had a BB giftcard, so I'm not out anything for it. Ended up getting all of those for no money out of pocket. Not bad way to start my collection. Sam Goody/FYE didn't have a SINGLE freakin BluRay. I have to order them. My buddy Steve is the manager here in Morehead, and he said he'll get them to me for a dollar or two over their cost... so I should be getting some more relatively soon.

You got it on the buy 1 get 1 free deal though right? Then it's not bad, I was thinking at first you paid $30 for Talladega Nights, about to slap you.
