:y4: Heck no, I wouldn't have bought it for $30. Yeah, all but Crank were buy one get one free. So I made out pretty well on the whole deal. About $15 a piece for BD's.. not bad. There were quite a few more that were on the shelf, but I showed some restraint, and didn't buy in bulk today, lol.

Next week, when the Guardian and Gridiron Gang come out though, I'm going to buy a few more.

Hello, my name is abates/rockytop1 and I have a problem.

Past year = 50" Sony 1080p SXRD, 360 HD DVD add on, 10ish HD DVD's, Nintendo DS and about 6 games (which I'm going to sell shortly cause I never play it - if interested, drop me a PM), Sirius Sportster 4, Sirius Starmate 4, Sirius Stiletto, Car Kit, Home speaker system for said Sirius equipment, 360 wireless headset, 360 harmony remote, new wireless router and coming within the next week...ps3, countless bluerays, blu-ray remote. The fact that I'm acutally buying a PS3 speaks to my problem. I could care less about any games out right now, I just need the new stuff. The good thing is that after gift cards, Christmas $ and all that, I'll probably only have to pay $150 or so out of pocket for it, so thats nice. I must say though, I sell TONS of stuff on ebay and the damage is not near as bad as one might think.

Around tax return time will come the surround sound system that is desparately needed along with probably a new tv stand to house all of these electronics.

Not counting the washer/dryer and condo I bought in August, lol.

Good job brother... That's quite a list. A bought a new washer and dryer the other day too, lol. I didn't really put it in the "technology" category, but I guess it is. I'm not handwashing my garments, therefor, technology, lol.

Anyway, I'm having a dilemma fellas. I watched Crank last night on the 61" 1080p DLP... well, it was absolutely awesome. I mean, I was absolutely blown away to say the least. Ok... when I'm heading to my bedroom to go to sleep, i take the PS3 with me, and start watching it again, just to see how it looks on the 32" LCD 720p/1080i. Well, needless to say, it was absolutely gorgeous and the picture quality was, in my eyes, the same as what the DLP was providing me. Why is that? 1080p is supposed to outperform 1080i, right? Especially a larger screen vs the smaller LCD.

Anyway, my problem is this... my uncle wants my Sammy DLP, and is offering up a little more than what I ended up paying for it. I'm seriously thinking about selling it, and buying a LCD 1080p unit. I looked at some yesterday while in BB, and the picture was just beautiful. Seen a Sony that was absolutely awesome as well. What are your thoughts fellas?

lol yeah its pretty bad. I never pay full retail though. I buy almost all my games/movies off of ebay unless there's an awesome sale in store somewhere. I straight up abused that $20 off $50 at buy.com over the holidays. The old 2 sirius radios were sold to help with the new one, etc etc. So while it is over the top, it's not as bad as it seems.

As for the condo, yeah, it sucks, but I figured why keep handing over $ to the a-hole apt complexes when I could be paying basically the same thing and building up some equity, ya know?

sell the 61" and get a 50". 61 is too damn big unless you have a huge room to put it in. I'd go for a 50" of the new sxrd's, but that's just me.

As for the pictures, IMO, if your lcd was 61" you would be able to tell a difference between 1080i and 1080p, but since the LCD is so small compared to your other tv, you go from looking at this monstrous thing to looking at a small, much more condensed version of the movie. I could see how your eyes could trick you into thinking the picture looked just the same. IMO if you took the lcd in the other room and set it next to the 1080p set, you would probably be able to see a slight difference.

Yes... that's what it was. It was an sxrd... VERY NICE unit in my mind. The picture quality looked top notch.

My room isn't that big, so that could be one of my problems. I'd say it's around a 17x13 room... so it could be bigger, lol.

I bought a front loader washer and dryer last fall due to my washer going on the fritz. I didn't include them since they were technology, but since they have electronics in them now you can consider them tech.

That Sony SXRD is nice. I was looking the other day for the hell of it at LCD's. I already have 2 smaller LCD's at home, 23" and 32", but I would like to replace my 50" RPHD with an LCD eventually, but I doubt it this year.

I'm thinking that's what I'll end up with. I mean... I love my Samsung DLP... but I don't know.. when my LG LCD gives me near the same picture (only smaller), something isn't right. I've all but decided to sell it now.

With LCD prices dropping, and TV prices in general... I may sell now, and wait a month or two before I make my next purchase.

I really like LCD tv's, especially for gaming. I'm not sure why, but I just don't feel like I get as crisp of a picture on a DLP. Mind you, I should, because it's a 1080p TRUE set... I just have a feeling I'm going to go forth and go with another LCD.

LOL, please tell me you don't sleep with your PS3!

1080p and 720p (what your LCD should be in) will not be a drastic difference. As I told Candy, I was at Best Buy, and they hooked 2 PS3's up to 2 DLP's, one in 720p and one in 1080p, no one could tell the difference at all.
