That didn't stop anyone around here from not shoveling. I guess that can be expected in a college town, but it's been a pain in the *** to walk through the past couple months.

Aren't there laws or stuff like that. I know where i'm from, the homeowner HAS to shovel the sidewalk in front of their house. I think it's like by 24 hours after the storm is over or something like that.


EDIT: I know for sure there is also a law like that in NYC, but that's for obvious reasons.

It took about 30mins this morning to get the ice off the car. First I had to get into the car to get the ice scrapper and then get it off the car so I could see. Roads weren't too bad in Deleware, but I only had to drive 1-2 miles from the Hotel. Only us consultants are at work today, the client employees all stayed home.

Shoot, I'm so glad I left NY and got away from all that crap... When it would snow, I would wish I didn't have a car at all.

Got a bunch of ice here, ice and freezing rain overnight. Trees are down everywhere, it looks like a hurricane came through. My power's been on and off, it was off for 6 hours overnight.

Drive through it! I can't talk, I've never seen more than 6 inches on the ground at once in my life. I don't think anyone in Charlotte owns a snow shovel.

Just hoping that it carries over into my second job and school tonight because I'm extremely not in the mood to leave the house.

This is true in my neighborhood. All snow must be shoveled off the sidewalk within 24 hours of it falling. I actually got a call from the head of the borough 2 winters ago when I was out of town for a few days telling me that if I didn't shovel my sidewalk, I'd get fined. I called back and told them I was out of town and they said it was my responsibility to have someone else come do it. I told the guy he should come do it as I wasn't going to force my father to drive 30 minutes to shovel my walkway when I was out of town.

In any case, I understand why some boroughs have this law. It helps the little kids get to the bus stop. I'd hate to see a little kid walking on the roads because someone didn't shovel.

I had 2 feet of packed snow at the base of my driveway this morning. Pretty tough to drive through that unless you own a tank.

See, again I have no clue what you are talking about. I guess a huge snowball or something. When I see snow, the first thing I do is grab the Squidlet and get out in it. Last thing I would think about is a shovel!

For the third time this year, the lucky people of St Louis got a nice full night of freezing rain, followed up by about 7 or 8 inches of snow. On my way into the office(yes we were open) some poor girl about a block in front of me, lost control of her car and smashed headon into a truck coming the opposite way. Her poor car was crushed and the engine was shoved back into the car. They had to use the jaws of life to get her out, and it had to be one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life.
