I do collision repair. Its fun but it really opens up your eyes when you see some of the parts that certain insurance companies want you to put on someones car. Aftermarket impact bars that weigh 2lbs compared to the OEM's 30 lb one is scary.Comment

Re: The official "OS Occupation" Thread.
Since this post, I've stopped going to school and currently work at a Quiktrip as a clerk. I am on the fast track to management and cannot wait to get those fat bonus checks each month.I'm attending College. This is my first full semester. I want to run my own business, either a sports-bar or a family friendly Gym. Not sure yet.
Currently, I work at Schnucks Grocery Store. It's a chain of large grocery stores in the St. Louis area. I started out a "bagger" in September 2007 and since then have been promoted twice, once to a Produce Trainee and then on to a Produce Clerk. I love it there. Lol.Comment

Re: The official "OS Occupation" Thread.
lol kinda funny as I'm in management at Kwik Trip. It's surprising how many people mistake us for Quik Trip even though there's none of Wisconsin.
For being stuck in the retail world, I can't really complain about my job. They treat their employees really, really good. The worst part of the long, long hours...Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Re: The official "OS Occupation" Thread.
I'm currently a stay at home dad, collecting unemployment compensation.
My former employer, Advanced Glassfiber Yarn, close the majority of their manufacturing at our plant and moved it to their South Carolina and Chinese plants. My department is the only one currently running, but since we were unionized, I lost my job to people with more seniority. I made continuous fiberglass mat for such applications as fiberglass ladders, wind turbine blades, car parts, scotchbrite pads and a whole host of other fields.
I'd like to find a new job, because I get bored with being in the house for most of my life watching after our 1 year old son. The only problem is that I can't find a job that pays a half decent wage to be able to take it and keep up with our bills.NFL: Green Bay Packers

Re: The official "OS Occupation" Thread.
This. Unemployment is a blessing and a curse in many states. It's either so low that it's lower than min. wage, so you better find a job doing something...or it's enough to 'help out' with bills based on your previous wage...but finding a job that's worth working and paying for daycare, etc. is tough, because they say "economy's down can't afford decent wages."Comment
