I work as a package handler at UPS. To me it's an easy job and I don't have to deal with customers so that makes me happy.

Cause I coulda sworn you were checkin out my package... :y4:

From the wonderful book of Will's pickup lines.

Seriously though, my roommate back in college used to do that, and he said it was exhausting.

All depends on what you're doing. I load and pickoff and don't really ever feel tired from work. Not even the days I was working over 10 hours a day for about 1 1/2 months straight.

Sr. Network Engineer at a finance company.

If all goes well, I'll be a Network Manager for another finance company in a few weeks or month. Very cool job that I interviewed for recently. I'd run a networking department with about 10 employees who would report to me. They have some archaic equipment running currently and one of my first jobs would be to get a plan together to upgrade the entire infrastructure.

PS - As far as giving 2 weeks notice. If it's a high school/college/temp job, I don't think it's a big deal to not give 2 weeks notice. If it's a career job, give 2 weeks notice. Future employers always want to talk to former employers. Every single interview form that I've filled out asks if they can contact former employers. Checking "No" is a huge red flag so try not to burn bridges with past employers because you want to check "Yes" in that box.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying about the 2 weeks notice... when I was hiring people, if they checked no... the flag went up, and made me really "iffy" about hiring them.

But congrats on your position if you get it bro.

UPS sucks, at least it did when I was there. I couldn't stand being in that hot *** warehouse doing the same thing day after day with one 10 minute break in the first hour.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I am a jack-of-all-trades. I commercial fished in Alaska for halibut and black cod last summer. I might go back up again this summer. Right now, I work at Best Buy at customer service. But I'm hoping to interview with the Seattle Seahawks for a scouting assistant position in April. If that doesn't work out, I might start my own business, involving football in some way.

Most of the management sucks at UPS but I enjoy working with my co-workers. They are what makes me like being there.

And you got a break in the 1st hour? We don't get one unitl after 2 hours in.

We got one break during the first and then we had to work however long we were there for the day without anymore breaks.

At FedEx, I'm a handler... we get like a 10 minute break, and we work like 4-5 hours each day. $11.20/hr for a college student is hard to beat, though. Get a raise in a couple of weeks!

WTF... gimme a hint here on application ****.

I worked for a grocery store for 2 months a couple of years ago. I put it on my applications for jobs, and put the manager as my supervisor because my supervisor doesn't work there any more. I put down all of the information from there... and I can't get an interview anywhere.

                        Any help?

EDIT: This might have been better as a PM.

I handle distribution to the retail stores of my company... was going fulltime to school as well, but decided to take some time off school as I was getting burned out being fulltime on both jobs.

I did that because my grades were slipping and I felt it was more important to focus on school than being a bagger at a grocery store.

No one seems to want to ask me what happened.

I guess it all depends on where you're applying, as well. Obviously, if that's your only job experience, an upper-tier company isn't going to hire you. Keep going after smaller gigs, like maybe another grocery store or something in retail.
