Why do we have to blame it on something besides what it obviously is? The guy was nuts, end of story.

Re: Shooting at Virgina Tech
Everything we put in our minds are going to have an impact. That is all I am saying. I am not saying that will amke you go out and kill people. But I will say I work with teenage murderer's. And they all look up to Scareface. That is scary, but they are gang bangers, so I understand that!Comment

Why aren't all these people blaming movies? Why video games? It's stupid either way, yes, but if they have to chose either they're picking the wrong one, imo.Comment

Re: Shooting at Virgina Tech
I'm not blaming anything. I'm just saying some of the muder scenes in movies (see: American History X, Scarface, Saw, etc.) are more memorable than anything I have ever seen in a videogame because it is a LOT more realistic.

Well one of the reason is in the video game you become that character and in a movie you maybe can relate to the character, but you don't become the character.Comment

Re: Shooting at Virgina Tech
Man I watched the most violent films, played the most violent video games, and you know what? When ever myself and a girlfriend broke up, I didn't go crazy and kill people, I moved on. You see I live in this little place called reality, it's pretty cool, most people should try checking it out. Just like blaming the school, that's f'd up, the school can't control crazy. I feel that guy was going to kill LOTS of people one way or the other. Who's to say in the schools mind that they weren't doing what was most responsible.Comment

I know you enjoy trolling through the Bonds threads playing the insane devil's advocate to everything anyone says, but this really isn't the thread for this. Any one of us couldn't have done this, video games aren't to blame for it, and this sort of thing doesn't happen "daily" throughout the rest of the civilized world.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

We scream about gun control, but in California carrying a concealed weapon is a misdemeanor. Carrying brass knuckles or a blackjack, is a felony. Go figure. We will discuss this until something more dramatic comes along and then will drop it like a hot potato.Comment

Re: Shooting at Virgina Tech
Quick6, I don't know if that's really true or not. All my years as a cop I saw many a person who you might think was pushed beyond the limit, gun in hand, knife in hand, etc., and there was just something there to stop them.
I guess it would just have to be the right trigger at the right time and under the right circumstance, but I know that there are people who, under these conditions are not capable of "pulling the trigger", pardon the pun.Comment

How I am trolling in the Bonds thread, just because I have a different opinion! What ever. All I am saying anything we see has a impact in our life. Videos games, movies and real life violence. That is all I am saying! I am just responding to those that are responding to me in the Bonds thread! lol
But maybe you do....Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
