In a park I guess it depends on what other dogs are there (and how many). We've been to some leashless parks where the dogs pretty much run wild the how time, but then we've gone to some when there aren't very many and they will play chase and frisbee with you.
Like here are some pics from a couple weeks ago at a dog park in Chattanooga. It was just us and some friends mosts of the time and the dogs did real good playing: http://www.monsterpaparazzi.com/phot...anoogadogpark/
It usually depends on how many people are there with their dogs and how they behave. I've taught my dogs to quit playing when other dogs play too aggressive, you never what will happen. So my dogs will stop and come back to me if they feel uncomfortable. I've got a decent size yard, so a lot of times, we just invite dogs to our house and let them go crazy, like this day: http://monsterpaparazzi.com/photos/halloween/
My older dog doesn't bark at parks and stuff. She just likes to play or hang out close to you. The pup does bark, it's funny sometimes, sometimes it isn't. He does it when another dog has a toy he wants. He learned it at home when he wants the toy my older dog has. We're trying to break him of it. We correct him and he stops for a little bit. He's just a pup though, he'll learn. They both bark at home when the UPS man comes or something like that, but we tell them to be quiet and they tone it down to little grumbles. I don't consider their barking a problem, just normal. They aren't the crazy barking dogs that drive people crazy, like they don't bark for no reason. Just when someone is coming up the sidewalk or something, but you can teach them not to do it.
As for grooming, you don't groom Bostons at all. Their hair stays short. I don't think they shedding is bad at all. I haven't noticed shedding from the puppy yet, the 1yr old will leave a few little hairs behind if she is sitting in your lap. They look like little eye lashes. They don't leave clumps of hair around like longer hair dogs or cats do.
