Apples are (according to my dentist) a really good food to help clean and maintain your teeth, apparently they are great at maintaining the enamel on your teeth.

I only eat an apple like once a week, need to start eating more.

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”… but why? Do you really know what makes an apple so special? Why is it that we never hear an orange or a banana a day keeps the doctor away?

1-Apple contains Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps greatly your immune system. A lot of people who lack Vitamin C in their diet have poor healing, bruise easily and have bleeding gums.
        <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:P></O:P>
<O:P></O:P>2-Prevent Heart Diseases. The reason it can prevent both coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease is because apples are rich in flavonoid. Flavonoids are also known for their antioxidant effects.
        <O:P></O:P>
3-Low in calories. A regular size apple has between 70-100 calories. Eating an apple when craving for candy or chocolate can make the desire disappear since apple in itself contains sugar, but gives you only ¼ of the calories.
        <O:P></O:P>
4-Prevent Cancers. Notice the plural. We all know that cancer comes in several forms and in different places. Apples target multiple cancers such as colon cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer in women.
        <O:P></O:P>
5-Apples contain phenols, which have a double effect on cholesterol. It reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol. They prevent LDL cholesterol from turning into oxidized LDL, a very dangerous form of bad cholesterol which can be deadly.<O:P></O:P>
        <O:P></O:P>
6-Prevent tooth decay. Tooth decay is an infection that seriously damages the structure of your teeth, which is caused primarily because of bacteria. The juice of the apples has properties that can kill up to 80% of bacteria. So there you have it, an apple a day also keeps the dentist away!

7-Protects your brain from brain disease. This is something many people don’t know, and when you consider that your brain makes the person you are, it gives a whole new perspective. Apple has substances called phytonutrients, and these phytonutrients prevents neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinsonism.
        <O:P></O:P>
8-Healthier Lungs. A research at the <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 /><ST1:PLACE><ST1:PLACETYPE>University</ST1:PLACETYPE> of <ST1:PLACENAME>Nottingham Research</ST1:PLACENAME></ST1:PLACE> shows that people who eat 5 apples or more per week has lower respiratory problems, including asthma. <O:P></O:P>
        <O:P></O:P>
9-They taste great! And not only that, they also come in many flavors and colors. Not in a mood for a green apple? Why not get a red one, or a macintosh! Their taste can vary greatly, but still give you all the apple benefits. Variety is an important element to maintaining your health.

Coffee could be an addiction as your body starts to crave it after a few years of drinking it.....I used to drink a cup in the morning and then would have possibly 1 at night maybe 2-3 times a week. Since I got really sick 2 weeks ago, I have cut out coffee and I've only had 3 cups total in the last 2 weeks. Its a start and hopefully I end up quitting from drinking it for the better......................then soda pop is the next thing I need to kick.

Personally I love Red Bull's I just hate the price of energy drinks, I could get a 2, 2 Liters of Sprite or Orange Soda for the price of one little can of Red Bull.
18-1 hell of a season regardless

Might I suggest the sugar free Rockstar drink (white can). It doesn't have the sugar that others have obviously and it gets me going in the morning.

Guys, apples aren't the be-all end-all for good food. There are plenty of things you can eat in the morning that will give a you heckuva energy boost and are healthy as hell for you.

Every morning for the past year and I half my breakfast is...

                          1/2 c whole grain oats
                          2 tbsp natural PB
                          1 c FF Milk
                          1 banana (or 1 c raspberries)
                          2 c 100% ON Whey

Toss it in a blender and it'll give you a better feeling than coffee ever could (although I've only had one cup of coffee in my life and it gave me a splitting headache for three hours).

I think it was easier for me to quit smoking than it is for you to quit coffee hahaha

3 days a week at work (I work from home the other 2) I'll have Coke all day, but at home I'll just drink off brand Crystal Light or something. I only buy diet pop for home too. I'd drink Red Bull, Rockstar, etc more, but they're too expensive to keep buying (well, I just don't care enough)

Bingo!! I get exercise and 8 hours of good sleep and i wake up, take a shower and i'm ready to roll, no cafeine or drinks needed. All I drink in the morning is one low sodium can of v8 juice and a glass of water.
