Okay earlier I said I'm ok with movie remakes because you can always watch the original but I was reading a rumor that Taylor Kitsch was offered a lead to The Raid American version. That's horrible. Especially it came out two years, part 2 was this year and are going to make a part 3. Let these movies have its time before you remake them. And there is no way they are gonna even come close to how good the Malaysian movies were.

Make an account for wedding expenses when you get married. This has been a nightmare trying to figure out how much money is mine and how much is ticketed for wedding-related expenses.

I have a fiancée who is in grad school not making money and a wedding next fall. This sucks...

I have two banks and I put wedding funds in one and living funds in the other

You guys should just do what me and my wife did and elope in Maui. We got all of our wedding stuff taken care of for around 2k. Of course, the rest of the trip cost a pretty penny, but nothing compared to what a real wedding/honeymoon would have cost.

Couldn't agree more. It's disgusting and I'm a heat fan. I was worried the second I heard about PG's injury and when I read an article about it, I couldn't believe they spent more than half the article talking about how this changes the power structure of the East. Especially in the off season. It's like the reporters don't care about the actual injury someone is suffering through.

And it gets more attention to talk about a terrirble injury so they aren't doing it for attention since it works against them to not talk about the injury.

Diagnostic fees. Seems like a good customer service practice would be to waive an BS diagnostic fee if you let them do the work and charge a full hour of labor for a 30 minute fix.

My thought process all along has been to put money into actual investments (ie: house) than to "waste" it on a wedding. Honeymoon is different - I wouldn't mind putting up capital for that.

You know what really grinds my gears?

                  Good luck to you.

A friend of mine's father did that: down payment on a home or pay for the wedding.

Of course they went for the wedding.

But they're also young and planting roots is a huge investment and decision. I don't even want a house until farther down the road. The upkeep alone scares me.

When I'm more financially stable and settled into a career, I'd be more open to it. All along we've heard invest in a house don't throw your money away with rent payments. But I won't regret it because it's the best and most realistic decision for us right now.

We've seen a few couples (married or just dating) get a house and then turn messy when they broke up or divorced.

I don't feel like we're throwing away a ton of money for our relatively cheap wedding. I said it before, a lot of that money wouldn't have been there if it wasn't going specifically to the wedding. Friends and family love to throw down for a wedding, but it's a bit different to get them on board in putting in money for a house down payment. I wouldn't even approach someone like that.

Besides, women love weddings. Unless they've already had their big wedding, it's tough to find a girl that will say AND follow-through on passing up a nice wedding in favor of something else. My fiancé isn't high maintenance or glamorous, but she wanted a nice wedding without breaking the bank. I thought it was fair. It means a lot to her and to women to have their big day, so I don't hold any resentment for being able to provide that instead of putting that money towards something else. I know it doesn't make a lot of logical sense, but it does for us and probably the majority of people.

If she does pass on a wedding in favor of a down payment, you probably got yourself a keeper.

Looking at houses I'd be hard pressed not to take the down payment. 20k can make a significant difference in what properties you can get especially. Obviously not being engaged we haven't really broached the subject of wedding extravagance, but I get the sense she's not very "showy" with things. She's all about saving them benjamins.

But they're also young and planting roots is a huge investment and decision. I don't even want a house until farther down the road. The upkeep alone scares me.

I can understand that and obviously it takes a lot more capital today to start that process than what most wages pay. You're not alone either:

The Guardian’s Jessica Glenza decided to wrest control and buy a home, questioning how correct studies on young people are

Popular wisdom is that our generation doesn’t buy houses. Statistically speaking, it’s true that fewer young people have bought them; only 35% of millennials own property.

If you're renting an apartment or townhouse I can see the benefit of not wanting to shoot for a house. The way I see it (and feel) is we're basically paying mortgage payments for our landlord (probably more than the mortgage payment), pay all the utilities, and do some upkeep, but we receive no benefit. Granted when a furnace breaks its nice to call up the landlord and let them handle it, but if you're careful you can find a pretty good house for your budget. We're looking at a house now that would be about 100 bucks cheaper a month for mortgage payments and that includes real estate taxes.

Typically, mortgage interest and real estate taxes help push you over the threshold for Itemized Deductions which lowers your tax liability. Yeah, its somewhat of a risk, but so is rent depending on how great/bad your landlord is. Plus, in 2 years you can always sell to move up the property ladder or go back to renting. Either way any profit you make on your residence is tax free. Money money money man.

Both of our immediate families know we'd rather be invested into as a couple than for the wedding. Don't get me wrong I want a nice wedding, but neither of us are about extravagance. Now, I would never say no to money for a wedding, but if family is going to give me the option?

We both want a nice wedding, but something we can reasonably afford without taking out a second mortgage.

I don't get what you want them to do. Should they wrote a full page article saying how bad they feel for PG? Should we not talk about the Pacers at all for a couple weeks to respect Paul George? No It's just like any other injury you report the injury and then you talk about it's affect on the team. Yes the injury is more gruesome but there's nothing you can do to change it

We had a pretty strict budget (that we knowingly went over a bit on), but wedding are crazy expensive. We ended up around 17k when we were trying for 13k or so. We didn't let it put us in debt by any means. I am glad that it's over lol. Now we're just doing budgets since she's staying at home with the kid and no longer having 2 incomes.

Working in a stock position for a retail company, I can help with this.

Online probably pulls from the inventory a store posts. I can't tell you how often our store says we have an item and we don't. There's many reasons for this. Some are still mysterious to me. How our inventory says we have one more large piece of furniture then we actually has still baffles me. Probably somewhere along the line, a label was misplaced, then scanned into our inventory on an item it didn't match. Other times, error on the store's part. Our stock team is small but not everybody can do everything, so if someone good isn't there, mistakes happen more frequently. That's just been my personal experience.

You can change stock inventory manually but usually it just slips through the cracks. Perfect world, those mistakes get dealt with immediately after the fact but you know how that goes...
