D batteries especially are getting outrageous, I guess it's lack of demand since things that take D batteries are being edged out. I guess I need to replace my old venerable 4D Maglite. It costs more now to put a load of fresh batteries in it than I paid for the actual flashlight.

I work for a software development company.

WHY THE HELL DO WE HIRE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT HAVE ANY COMPUTER SKILLS?!?!

I mean we hired this lady, sounds very nice. Yet she asked me for help on how to put the stand and her monitor together. It's 2 pieces that should snap together, and she can't do it. FML.

Then I send out an email for people to click on a link to get connected to a printer, and I had users coming up to me asking, how do I connect to the printer?

Shaved yesterday and barely cut my skin. Just barely. It bled for almost 45 minutes. Thought I should have bled out during that time...

I have a light bulb that burned out. Its over a semi enclosed stairway 18 feet off the ground......Not sure other than McGuivering some platform and using a ladder that would probably lead to my death how to change this light bulb or why they put the light there.

I feel your pain. I work in Parks and Recreation and we do a lot as far as enforcement, maintenance, customer service, etc. A VERY small part of our jobs is programming (leading classes/tours/etc.). Lately we had a good bit of turnover bringing in a few new people. Instead of getting people who are well rounded in all areas I have been given people (2 of 4) who basically only know how to implement programs. So we (especially myself) wind up having to carry the workload of others while we constantly are having to train and re-train these people. Then they get all upset when smething is pointed out that they missed or did wrong. I'm glad we have people to do programs, but literally ANYONE can put our programs on. Everyone (including myself) before these new folks had zero experience in programming and we have done great with it.

I just don't see the point in hiring someone who can only do maybe 15% of their job. It is especially frustrating when in preparing for a program they spend at least triple the time it takes anyone else to prepare when in that tme they needed to be doing their main job duties.

How every phone/tablet are commonly referred to as Iphones and Ipads. Like at a sports game when lots of people are taking pics and stuff, the commentator will be like "Look at all these fans taking pictures on their Iphones and Ipads".

There's obviously so many other kinds of phones/tablets out there, so for someone who doesn't ever want an iphone/ipad(though I got other phone/tablet), I don't like how Iphone is the go to name for a smartphone and Ipad is the go to name for a tablet.

I'm actually surprised the TV announcers aren't told to call them Windows tablets. Since it appears that the tablets teams are now allowed to use are all Windows. Which I assume they paid a good amount for that.

I worked at a service desk for almost a year and realized quickly that 75% of people are clueless when it comes to the basic workings of a computer. You would have no idea how hard it is to explain where to type a URL. I would be trying to help them get to site, explaining clearly where the URL bar was and specifically say not to put it in the far right Google search (it's all defaulted to that). I would finally remote in, and see they typed it into the search bar. That would be if they got to explorer. I would say "open Internet Explorer" and they couldn't manage that. Then they would say "oh you mean the internet."

They are.....I saw an article somewhere where MS was annoyed that some announcers call them Ipads.
