I can't believe I just found out earlier this year that Band-Aids is just a brand name . Talk about succeeding at marketing.

.....Bandaids and scotch tape aren't their actual names!?!

I always thought kleenex was just like another name for tissues lol. Like how diff countries have diff words for the same thing, even though they speak the same language and all.

Xerox? I don't hear that one as much these days though, ancient technology and all that.

When I was growing up though every soda was a coke.

Companies hate it though. It kills their trademark protection when their brand name become genericised.

I think about that whenever I see an old movie, it's a morbid thought. Even Seinfeld reruns I'll remember the older actors are dead now. Conversely I'll GIS for young images of today's elderly actors to see what they used to look like.

Especially if the brake lights stay on the whole time and the driver clearly isn't paying attention. A quick beep to wake him/her up is all it usually takes.

Heating up canned soup in the microwave, the actual soup can still be cool/lukewarm, but the bowl is super hot.

Obviously not a microwave safe bowl.

Huh? That was all the evidence you needed to make this determination?

Ive heard this. So How do you order a Sprite, Orange Crush, or a Rootbeer. I'd like one of them lemon lime flavored Cokes? I'd like the Coke that tastes like Rootbeer and make it a float please? Can I get one of those orange Coke's?

Is that a serious question? Yes. It's the major determining factor for me.

There are certain basic laws in life I go by. If it's supposed to move and it doesn't, wd-40. If it moves and it's not supposed to, duct it.

Somewhere down that list is if the bowl gets hot and the food is still cold, that bowl is not meant for the microwave.

I didn't do a whole lot of ordering when I was a little kid.

"Mom, can I have a coke?"

Mom hands me what ever tasty sugary liquid of the gods is on hand and I proceed with my sugar rush. I didn't care. I was the kid at the self serve soda buffet that mixed like 6+ different types of soda in my glass.

Ah I see you were referring to your own fabricated set of standards. I don't know any dish that doesn't heat up in the microwave when you microwave food for more than 20 seconds.

I thought we were going by the old standard of if it says its not microwave safe, it blows up/sparks in the microwave.
