Having to direct traffic. I absolutely hate it. The death stares I get from people actually does bug me and I just hate being that guy who has all their anger focused on me.

Yes I went to bed excited because I knew that when I woke up I would get to wear a lame bright vest and stand in the middle of an intersection to inconvenience you for five minutes of your day. There's no place on Earth I'd rather be than causing you misery and making you late for your...oh wait you don't have anything to do other than get home and watch a TV show. It was 100% my decision to make sure I personally caused you this temporary inconvenience.

I'd rather have the people in the streets yell at me, flick me off, say I'm harassing them, and call me slurs. That's my comfort zone and I can deal with it.

I make it a point to give a wave to police officers or construction workers who are tasked with directing traffic. I wouldn't want to trade places with them.

They were doing lots of road construction over the summer on the road outside my development.

My wife waved and thanked them every time.

I typically just nod. We did make sure to say good job and thanks when some other people were yelling and cussing at them for it taking a couple minutes to get out of the development. I guess they wanted to be under the steamroller...

Come to think of it, traffic cops grind my gears. Always waving their flashlights, blowing their whistles, and profiling snowmen....

I would actually prefer it that way. I hate the ticker.

It also cuts off the left & right sides of the screen, sometimes you'll have the QB drop back off camera and the ball just appears mid flight.

Maybe I'm tripping, but the text circling around the orange circle looks like the old Tecmo font.

Today's gear grinder: my car insurance randomly going up 60 bucks.

I was on my Dad's policy; I got cheaper, better insurance, and he got a multiple car discount.

I don't live at home anymore and he moved recently, so they needed my updated address. I thought this could probably change my insurance payments... but in two conversations with my local office, no mention. I even moved my payment date back so all my bills aren't swamping me at the same time.

Letter came today: 3 discounts were removed, and my payment date is the old date.

Why couldn't they tell me this first? I'm an understanding guy, and removing those discounts makes sense. Just let me know so I can budget for it! And to compound matters, they didn't move my date back either. I was probably going to stay on with them, now I'm disappointed in their shady behavior and looking to move to a different insurance.

My dad was just telling me the other day about the same kind of thing happened to him. His insurance went up when my mom passed away because he lost the multi-driver discount. So now that only one person is on the road driving the same vehicles that have been on the policy forever, it got more expensive. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense

Windows updates that cause the blue screen of death on a day I have 2 budgets to turn in.....and I'm only able to work half the day today. So FRUSTRATING
