Self checkout lanes need an IQ requirement...
I'm a wizard checking out at those things. Some people look absolutely lost.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

She said they have them because most people follow the signs and it speeds things up overall.
I wish we had more of those here. Use them when I can, but the closest grocery stores to me don't have them anymore (Or never have).Comment

Self checkout lanes are ok, at long as people know what they're doing. Unfortunately it doesn't always go that way. Sure, using them the first time or so might be slightly confusing for some, but it's really not hard at all once you've seen them multiple times.
Though self checkout lanes take longer than regular lanes. Cause people doing self checkout, just take their time, decide to do other things while checking themselves out.
On other side of that...a "newer" thing that some stores added, the item finder, is a real helpful device they have within the store. From home, you can go on their website, check store stock and see if they have it. But from in the store itself, you can just search the item, and it'll tell you the exact aisle it's in.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
My only complaint about the self checkout lanes is when I'm buying booze and the attendant needs to come check my ID but she's off in lala land and couldn't care less about coming over. They go out of their way to avoid eye contact too, which is ironic since that's how I spent the rest of my store tripWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Ya, either that, or they're just too busy talking to someone else. They just stand there, basically supervising the self checkout(there's usually just 4 "stations"), how can you possibly be so busy, you can't attend to one of those 4 peoples needs? Isn't that like their only job....
You ask them to come over, and they're like "I'll be with you in a moment"......Ya, just stand at the self checkout, doing absolutely nothing for the next minute, waiting for someone to come over.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Always do look forward to family stuff during Christmas, though one part of it I have started to grow to hate, is the conversations at times lol. When I was younger, it was always just those generic "how's school? what do you want for christmas?" types of questions.
Now...basically so many diff conversations relating to religion,politics,work/job. During relaxing time of year, not exactly topics I want to be talking in depth about so much. It was more fun doing these things when I was a kid, it was all just about getting presents, and playing games with family I rarely get to see. Now, it's just hoping people don't start bringing up work related discussions or something in the middle of vacation, when that's one of the last things I want on my mind.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
lol. But really, it was much more fun when nobody ever bothered about these conversations. These holiday things were just about exchanging presents, playing games, having fun, reminiscing about past holidays. Now everyone is older, some with kids, much less space to really do anything, so now most people just sit around talking for 4-5 straight hours.
Not exactly as many topics to dive into when talking with family, compared to friends.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
They don't enforce it because it's not worth it. The person with 50 items is a known *******, so it's best to just ring him/her up and get them out of the store before they start being an ******* about something else.Comment

Yeah....isn't it a prank to fill an envelope with glitter so when they open it then it'll get all over? I thought someone got famous for making a website that offered to do that a year or so ago.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
