My students have grown into this "water bottle tossing" fad as if it's some newfangled thing. You know, drink enough water so that it's near empty and you can try to land it after a flip. Doing it during class is just... no.

Funny you mention that, a kid just told me about that today and I said, "Do you mean the thing in movies like The Other Guys and Source Code?" After he showed me a video, I found out that yes, it's exactly like that.

Personally, I think that's neat if done right. The ones I've seen are pretty sloppily done though. Not their fault in any way, but one thing I'm not a fan of is people holding their iPhones tall instead of wide while making the shot happen.

I could see my 5th period class wanting to do a mannequin challenge with me, something that like tells a story of the students overthrowing the teacher or something. It would be kind of fun. But, like the Harlem Shake and everything before it, soon enough it will grow old. I say save it for the cinema only.

- People who turn left out of a parking lot when there's a street with red light next to the parking lot that they could easily use; but instead they have to depend on someone else to let them out.

- When you send an email and right as you hit send you see a stupid grammatical mistake (their for they're in my case), but it's too late... now you look dumb.

If you use gmail there is a setting that delays the message going out from 5 to 30 seconds (preference) in case you see a last second error. I use it all the time for the same reason.

on that note, people who are sitting in a long line of traffic, who stay stopped to let someone turn into the traffic. oh sure, they make that guy happy, but they've incidentally pissed off everyone else behind them....

My kids playing videos games. They'll start playing a level, the Lego games for example, they'll play a few minutes of a level. Then quit and pick another level. Just finish one before going on to the next. Back in my day if you wanted to play a different level you had to hit reset and your only option was one other level. The first one.
