Not getting offered a receipt at restaurants or other places of service. Even worse, now with these tablet-based point-of-service payment systems, you may not even be able to get a receipt.

I travel a lot for work, so every time I forget to get a receipt or don't get offered one (or even the option of offered one), it basically comes out of my pocket. Pisses me off to no end.

When you could have sworn that you drank all of the coffee in your thermos only to put the "empty" into your bag and find a lake of coffee inside the bag that seems far too large to even be real.

I did something worse with a paper Starbucks cup. I was talking with a friend and fidgeting with my cup absent-mindedly, basically pushing in the sides around the lid, and then I went to drink and unbeknownst to me, I had made a dent between the lid and the cup, so instead of flowing through the 'sippy' hole, it went under the lid/around the top of the cup and all onto my shirt.

Shirt ruined, had to go the rest of the day w/ massive coffee stain looking like an idiot, and this was at a major conference, so I was running into colleagues left and right for the rest of the day.

It only happened because you were going to be out in public amongst other professionals. These things don’t happen on Saturday morning when you’re bumming around the house.

          Also re: receipts

I’ve been on both sides of this at the same time. Traveled to work an event that we sold at, so with the Square reader there was no paper receipt, only digital copy via text or email. I always asked, just seemed right. I guess in that type of atmosphere where it’s a traveling event it’s unrealistic to expect a regular paper receipt. You’re probably speaking more of a traditional register that supplies thermal paper built in to its expenses. Luckily, my boss accepted the online statements as receipts but I still saved a copy physically while I was traveling for work.

I’ll leave you with this Tweet, as it’s spot on for me: “little secret about me: my answer to the question, “would you like a receipt” is based on absolutely nothing and changes all the time.”

Yep. You know how extremely judgey school systems can be too. We would get a call the same day asking, "Is everything okay at home? Your child came to school with a Wal Mart sack today so we called DHR to come inspect your house."

Is Amazon's service slipping for anybody else?

I've had a couple orders with issues the past month or so:

              1) Ordered an album. Album arrives. Wrong album. Replacement arrives. Wrong album. Second replacement arrives. Wrong album. Talk to CS. Given link to third party seller page for item and $10 credit. Go to order album after talking to CS. No items available.

              2) Ordered an album from Amazon "Global". Two weeks go by. Talk to CS for update on order. Assured item will still arrive in original delivery window. Two-three more weeks go by. Talk to CS again. Assured item will be shipped within 48 hours. Four days later. Promised item would ship today (Friday). I cancelled the item today and ordered from a third party seller for less money.

              3) Ordered an outdoor decor statue of a monkey eating garden gnomes while sitting atop a pile of bananas. This was a birthday present. Make the mistake of not checking box before wrapping (description on label was correct). Wife unwraps and opens the box yesterday to find: a BEAR eating garden gnomes and honey. She likes the item so we're keeping it.

I read about the shipping/delivery problems during the holidays (and all of last year), but this is probably the worst stretch I've ever had with Amazon.

Haven’t had a problem since I’ve had Prime the last two years. Probably close to 100 purchases amongst the household. A handful a day late or so, I think one acrylic cake stand came damaged in transit but that’s it. Not bad. Maybe you’re just going through a rough patch lol. Small sample size, momentum, etc. #sports

I've had some issues over the past few months, but I think most of it is the fault of the seller being misleading and then the shipping service.

My wife ordered cases for our kids' older iPads we bought and they were labeled wrong and were for a different model iPad. They came in and the box had the right label, but the cases themselves were different.

Then we ordered some Pokemon action figures with PokeBalls and the pictures were great looking and we got them and half of them were some weird *** colors that made no sense and several of the Pokeballs were broken. They weren't officially licensed so that was our fault too.

Then I ordered some parts for my wife's car and Fedex delivered them to the wrong house. They said they arrived at 7:40 and it updated me at 6:30 so I knew it was wrong all ready. Then they disputed it and said the driver told them he would investigate and once he did he found they were delivered to the right address and they told me to file a claim with the seller. Why? It's not the sellers' ****ing fault. I wasn't even mad about it at all until they disputed my claim. I offered them a copy of the video from my driveway and they pretty much told me tough luck and to contact the seller.

Two days later my neighbor brought the package over thinking it was mine..lol.

I don't know that any of this is Amazon's fault, but they were all eligible for Prime shipping and were sponsored by Amazon. I'm guessing it's just some bad luck because I've used Amazon for years and even when I lived in Japan they were amazing at getting me my stuff.

I try to stay away from third party sellers. Too many storefronts where I don't trust what I'd get, if at all.

How about this for a ridiculously minor gear grinder, but a gear grinder nonetheless...

When you crack open a fresh jar of pickles and you have to be careful when grabbing the first one because the jar is so full of juice that any tiny speck more displacement will cause an overflow of pickle juice on the counter.

Or when it's so full of juice that even just opening it causes enough of a ripple to spill.
