I've missed more big plays and parts of shows because I never watch commercials. I'm either going to my backup show(s) or reading the guide during commercials, because I have no patience for them any more. I can't believe that as a kid, I would watch entire movies with commercials every 5-9 minutes. I would never do that now...

Americans are fortunate they get to avoid the wasteland of Canadian commercials. Some Canadian companies run the same advertisements for years and years. McCain Foods is particularly bad. You'll see a kid eating french fries in their ad for years while the kid in real life has graduated from college.Comment

But in general, they suck. The same few car commercials on every channel, often making you sick of hearing a popular song, fast food commercials get played so often but I dont get annoyed though.
It's those annoying banking commercials which I hate. I'm sure you know those questrade commercials. Basically being like "You're not still banking with mom and dads guy are you?!", aka trying to target millennials and making people who know little about banking think that their parents know nothing either and theres better options out there.
And lottery commercials. Clearly they're making good money if they can afford so many ads all the time.
Although seeing some of these commercials, it makes me mad that in school when teachers would make us do skits, they judged people so strictly when we were probably just as good if not better than the average actor on these commercials.Last edited by Majingir; 02-02-2021, 03:59 PM.Comment

I can give them a pass lately since most cant film anything new (although some simply just made new commercials with no people, either using all text/graphics or cartoon/animated characters).

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Although I do wonder if TV will ever go the streaming way with short commercials more frequently.
You see it in a sports game where they take a 15 second break in play to show some ad and then back to the action. I wonder how many wouldn't channel flip during a game if they had a game with no lengthy breaks, but instead had 15-30 second breaks more often.Last edited by Majingir; 02-02-2021, 05:53 PM.Comment

People who I know HEAR me say thank you politely yet choose to ignore by turning away and not acknowledging it.
You know what then?
Have a day.
Good day? Bad day? I don't care now.
Just have a day and go on with your rude self.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Commercials here aren't any better, I'm seeing Descovy for prep, Rupaul drag show, teen mom OG, and a blood pressure commercial that haunts me, on an endless loop
the Rupaul commercial gets replayed 3 times in a row sometimes, and I'm hearing "condragulation!" as an earwormLast edited by l3ulvl; 02-03-2021, 03:09 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
