Totino's changed their recipe, ingredients or something on their pizza and I'm not okay with it.

      It's awful.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

To piggy back off that, when you take a chance on something new or on sale at the supermarket or Sam's/Costco and it sucks. Especially at a big box store where you're stuck with tons of it.

and you're all proud of yourself for scoring a deal, like BOGO or clearance or whatever, then it sucks and you're like ****

and then you gotta eat it all, anyway, just for personal pride, I'm gonna win this!

When streaming apps on smart TVs have those simple logins where you just enter a code on your phone and it loads up automatically, but you try that on a tablet and it's like, "hell no, you're basically just on a phone with a big screen, you gotta dig up that password and type everything out to login, dummy."

              "Work from home tomorrow"

              Me: OK

"Or..come in half day and go home for half if you want"

Me: I'll just work from home all day, makes more sense.

              (Later)

"You should just come in all day instead"

Ok sure. Anything I was gonna do from home I'm not gonna try to get done in person, because why would I show I can do home stuff at work? I always hate when false promises get made because that changes your expectations. If option A and B doesn't happen and C is the only option, there's nothing wrong with that. But when A and B get teased, just for neither to happen, that's when it seems like a downgrade.

seems like too many of the lessons from the covid ordeal, we've already forgotten.
working from home whenever possible is one of those lessons we should have stuck with keeping to imo

                  Exactly.

If you need to physically be there then it's fine, but when everything you need to do can be done from home, then why bother showing up? You're literally making LESS money (due to money spent to go to/from work) and doing LESS work by showing up in person (at least for me, because if I'm home, I'm more focused and more productive since coworkers and outside situations aren't getting in my way, and sudden/extra things don't pop up in the same way as they would if I was in person. I also try getting that work done asap because the more free time I have at home the better, vs if I go to work, I'm making a 2-3 hour task take 4 so I can finish it right before I go for lunch)

I don’t know, doesn’t seem like a great strategy to say you’re going to do less because you were asked to go into the office.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I see both sides of the work-from-home debate. There are definitely situations where an all (or like 95%) work from home schedule makes sense, and 2020 just sped up where we were headed on that anyways. but I also see the value of wanting your employees to show up and communicate in person. I don't think that's all about ignorant corporate bureaucracy.

There are people out there who will be less efficient/valuable employees when they work from distance. Family/kids will all of the sudden get in the way at times when it wouldn't have with in-person. The time saved by not having to commute will somehow get eaten up by other things. Entry level employees would probably hit all the above more often.

I think 2020 also taught us the mental health consequences of stay-at-home across everything. I just think there are people who learned the wrong "lessons" from that year, particularly the r/anti-work "we got paid to stay at home and do nothing and it worked out fine," crowd. So I think maybe I lean more towards in-person being a priority than others partially as a reaction to that ignorance, even tho those were mostly people who wouldn't have even had the option to work at home anyways.

                        Thousand percent correct.

I am very productive at home. Way more than when I'm at the office due to our relaxed style, going to lunch with coworkers, etc. But I also love my coworkers and they're friends more than coworkers, and there's a certain cohesion that comes with being on site. Not to mention being able to just turn around and ask or answer a question rather than text it over or whatever.

But yeah, I love working from home.

It works for me, but not for a lot of others. Even within my work, there's definitely a few people who take liberties and are very clearly not doing anything a lot of the time. Those are the ones that will ruin the privilege we've been granted.
