Summer colds. Its summer time, colds are for winter timeI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

people who talk about running half-marathon. just so they can use marathon when talking about their running prowess. if you don't run 26 miles and change, you didn't run any type marathon afaic
otherwise that 70 feet I run to the car when it's raining? I'm saying I run partial marathonsOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
A marathon is, what, 26.6 miles? There're 5280 feet in a mile so a marathon is 140,448 feet. So yeah, your 70 feet is about 0.05% of a marathon or about 1/1000th of a half marathonn. So yeah, I think running 1/2 a marathon is a whole lot more impressive than running 1/2000th of a marathon.
I just wished they'd just call ''half-marathons'' a 21K, or whatever
also, I wonder what the time limit is on completing a marathon, and saying you've run a marathon. is it in a single day?
because if it stretches to two weeks instead of a single day, I probably run a marathon every couple weeks lolOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

How many people do you know that brag about running a half marathon over a course of several weeks? That would be weird.
If you don’t know any this is a really bizarre flex by you until you can talk about running a half marathon instead of comparing it to running to your car over the course of a a couple of years…Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Remember when Dallas Braden yelled at Alex Rodriguez to get off his mound as he ran across it? Not too long after that he pitched a perfect game, and somebody on OS said that Braden now has more bragging rights because less pitchers have thrown a perfect game than hitters had hit 500 home runs.
They kind of forgot three key things to that though:
1) Longevity. This is why I'm bringing it up, comparing 70 feet to 13.1 miles. Doing something in one game versus 500 times in a career is a drop in the ocean.
2) Team versus individual effort. Unless you're striking out all 27 players, defending each ball or getting all soft contact, you're crediting the other eight players heavily (especially your battery-mate).
3) Rodriguez shortly after hit 600 HR, which is a much smaller list than the perfect game list.
Anyway, I just brought this up because it reminded me of that after hearing this 'debate' of sorts. No, a half-marathon ain't a marathon. It's not in the same league, but it is a part of the same conversation. People don't often run 26.2 consecutive miles when training for a marathon, so it's not like half-marathons aren't a part of their routine as is. I remember doing a 10-mile run back in April, and it was... somewhat calming. But again, nothing like the marathon. What's crazy is seeing people do those 100-mile runs. I believe Eric Byrnes is one of them.
Speaking out of context, I love that one moment in House where he is debating a monetary value with Wilson, and he says: "It's the same principle. 20 dollars, a million... what's the difference?" To which Wilson replies: "Actually, the difference is pretty much a million dollars." What's the difference between 70 feet and 13.1 miles? The difference is pretty much 13.1 miles lol.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I'm not really bent out of shape about but I have seen various interviews with runners not so much ''bragging'' about running half-marathons, just them mentioning that they run half- marathons. still, I'd like the half-marathon phrase replaced with something like 21K or some such.
apologies if I grinded anybody's gears that run 21k'sOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The most I run is 10K, I wouldn't want to run for much longer than an hour. Sorry, let me translate for Caulfield, I like to run Quarter-Marathons. I'm what you might call a Quarter-Marathoner, me. We like to call them QMs, or quarter-mares. It's a runner thing.
It's actually slightly less than a quarter marathon, but that's OK.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Forum related, but the agenda posting.
Maybe I'm just extra grouchy cause I'm getting old and didn't take a nap today but it really grinds my gears when people have an opinion, good or bad, about a game and scour the forums of certain games looking for threads that could serve as battlegrounds to push their agenda
SpoilerCase in point, person makes thread about the ridiculous number of fumbles they are seeing. Its quickly discovered that they understandably had the fumble slider reversed and had it set to 0. The Madden is trash poster pays this no mind and goes straight into his Madden is trash routine. The Madden is good poster also ignores this and says its realistic and you have to play smart. Bro, if his slider is 0 no amount of being smart is gonna helpComment

I don't care if people get their vehicles lifted, but this having the tires sticking out beyond the vehicle just looks dumb.
