Yeah, have fun with your mower choking out every 20 feet in June! I hate when they try to put regular everyday people through some hassle for the environment.

I've mowed in the Florida summer for many years, I'm not battling a massive swell in June.

I mean unless you live in a state where it rains a lot....why would you let the grass get out of control? Do they not know it also brings in ticks and what not?

My first mow of the year was rough enough. No thank you, lol.

Unless you have weeds it's not even helping anything. Bees aren't chilling in the grass, and bugs are down at dirt level. The only real way to help is to replace what grass you can with actual plants and flowers.

No Mow May...As a millennial I feel that I must take some blame for every annoying "clever" name given to whatever cause is the flavor of the month/week of the moment. That definitely feels like a my generation thing, sadly.

Oh, and also every TV commercial that thinks it's funny while remaining hip because it's in on the joke, that's us too. Watching NBA playoffs the past few weeks I've seen nothing but that humor. That Google Pixel pickup game commercial makes me root for the death of television.

So should I simply tell the HOA that it's "No Mow May" and expect everything to be fine?

These are basement dwellers from Reddit who have never mowed a lawn in their life.

I mean...can't you just mow it at a higher height for that month if you really want to help?

I think the theory is the bees take from the weeds until weather turns and actual flowers start to bloom, so cutting higher wouldn't really work because you'd be hitting those weeds anyway. I don't know, I'll be cutting all my grass anyway but I guess you could leave a small patch or something if you wanted to participate.

If letting weeds grow somehow got rid of wasps though, I'd be in for that. Someone make that magic happen.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

or smoke alarms from another apartment in your building, you don't know if it's legit or not, do you gather all your valuables and execute the fire drill, or did someone just have a little smoke while cooking

Somewhat related, but I feel that way about car alarms (at least during the day)

Anytime I hear an alarm, I just assume someone accidentally pressed the button (or their kids did). But you only bother to look around if you hear it for a long enough time.
