Some times I just think people parents were just terrible spellers and really weren't trying to be different, they just couldn't spell.

There should be a law to naming children. Simple "Dont ruin their lives with a stupid name".Comment

My name is Jess but most new people call me Jesse or Jeff. My energy bill says Jeff and I have a youth trophy that also has Jeff on it.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

My name is Darius, pronounced Dare-e-us and only one teacher ever got it right on the first try. Most pronounced it Da-rye-us. I stopped correcting them after awhile.NFL - Vikings

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
At least with some of the names, like Brian/Ryan they aren't completely different sounds...spoken they actually are almost identical. My name is Shane, and 90% of people I just meet will accidentally call me Shawn. They are two totally different sounds, and occasionally people will even call me Shawn when reading my name off a piece of paper. I don't know what effin English classes these people took that told them Shane would be pronounced "Shon"Comment
