This happens in sports too, but it grinds my gears when people defend something without knowing the facts, and seem to ignore the fact.
I had corrective eye surgery that took my -6.75 eyes to a 20/15 vision each.
Upon telling a particular someone this news because I was just excited I can actually see, his response was: "That's it? My eyes are 20/20 so mine are still better than yours."

My heat breaking in the middle of a cold night with a good 5 inches of snow on the ground.
Luckily I was able to diagnose and patch the problem that should last until I order the part, thanks to the internet. It's the flame sensor.Comment

When you're watching an actual NFL football game in actual real life and Madden players/complainers start bitching about Madden during the football game based on whats happening.
"Psst you can't do that in Madden"
"I wish EA would put that into the game"
"They better up Wilson's speed this week in the update"
"Maybe EA will get Sherman's hair right next year!"
Etc etc. Maybe I'm biased or skewed since I don't play Madden, but when I see this it annoys me.Comment
