I don't think you can claim giving money to the homeless/family/friends etc. on your taxes and not have to pay on it, unless you would like to be audited lolCubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Set up a charity. Have your family be executives. Give money to the charity. Pay your family.
Plus, gift tax doesn't kick in until 13k for immediate family members.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
This is true. Also, the charity thing might be stretching it a little bit as far as possible solutions.
We're assuming now that people that are struggling to get by, that suddenly find themselves with a large sum of money, are going to be aware of the workarounds of avoiding income taxes and writing off money they give to all their family and friends coming out of the woodwork. Not disagreeing that it isn't possible, but unlikely they are going to have advisers and accountants sitting around telling them what to do with their money.
Either way, we've strayed enough off topic.
However, if I ever need to pay someone off and don't want to be taxed on it, I know who to call hahaCubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I don't really make large donations, but even as a poor college student, I help out at my mom's food cupboard when I'm home and give money/food to the homeless people here in Syracuse.
I try to have a couple bucks on me (I don't like carrying cash) so that if I run into anyone that needs money, I can give them a little bit or buy them some food or something.NFL: Bills

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
And I'm sure everyone that had became rich before you has said the same thing.
No one knows how drastically their life will change obtaining a large amount of money, but I guarantee you will be different after obtaining it. Otherwise, you'll be broke quickly "not forgetting where you came from".Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
People who fall into wealth tend to **** it up. But those who work into wealth probably have a better hope in the long run.
However neither of these grind my gears.
But what do grind my gears are the people around these newly rich people who try to suck them dry using words like family, and investment, and accounts manager, etc.Comment

When I press the Diet Mountain Dew button on the machine and a Grape Crush pops out.
Not even close to the same thing, soda machine. Not even close.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Actually, come to think of it... I am probably the unhealthiest creature roaming this earth. I had root beer and bagels for breakfast. Followed by a brunch of pixy stixs.Last edited by ubernoob; 11-27-2012, 02:47 PM.badComment

Nah. Just thankful for my metabolism that allows me to stay fit with minimal work put in.
Also, I normally eat quite healthy. Candy is a rarity for me, the only thing I do that I will admit to is drink WAY too much pop.
I eat about 100x healther now that I'm out of the military as well. Living in the barracks there it is literally like... "TODAY ENDS IN Y! IT'S DOMINO'S PIZZA NIGHT!"Last edited by ubernoob; 11-27-2012, 02:56 PM.badComment
