Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Here you have to have a police officer of some kind sign off on a window tint warning.

I had someone help me out there once.

I was also given a headlight warning once and I showed the officer the package with the replacement bulbs sitting in my passenger seat. Dude still wrote me the warning and I had to waste time going to the station and getting it checked. I was running "arctic white" bulbs too at the time. You can't even see them in the daylight. When the officer checked them for me he even said he couldn't tell..

As far as tags go. We don't have strict emissions laws here. I just go online and renew my tag and they send me new stickers for it.

Which reminds me that I need to so that this month. Ugh.. Custom AU tags going to costs me more too.

I used to do this all the time in college. The one time the guy behind the counter tried to bust me, I was actually getting water.

I was working counter at Burger King once years ago and a little girl came walking in with a big water bottle, walked over to the soda thing, filled it up with soda, and walked back out the front door.

Because I don't give a damn, I just sat there laughing my *** off. I actually applaud the audacity.

I ****ing hate this with a passion.

You want a soda? Get the damn soda. Can't afford the soda? Don't get a soda. Get a water cup. You still want soda properties in the drink you consume? Get club soda from the fountain instead of flat water.

Blatantly stealing from the business, no matter how minimal it is. And worse yet, it's that entitled bull**** mentality creeping out like it does in so many walks of life.

I did that all the time after HS Football practice at Wendy's, most of the employees didnt care and would hook us up with a medium drink cup instead of a water cup

I don't know if it was like this there, but soda was free for employees at Burger King. As much as you wanted. So if someone wanted to steal it I didn't give a ****. They clearly didn't value it.

I probably doubled the amount of money I made there in amount of free soda consumed.

Pretty much. The cost of those drink boxes can be made up with just a few drinks sold at regular price. That's why some companies don't care what their employees drink or they just require everyone use a specific type of cup. The cup itself is more valuable, as weird as it sounds saying it..

If the drink itself was the issue, everyone would charge for refills.

Yep, when I worked at a movie theater the employees had to use a special employee cup, but could have unlimited pop or frozen coke.

They tracked cups against the sales to that register, so if your number of cups was off they'd treat it like stealing. End of night you'd count down your register along with cups, popcorn bags, and candy. If you were missing stuff you'd be in big trouble.

The amount of traffic the athletic teams as well as other HS students gave that Wendy's, it was a minute or 2 walk from the HS, probably severely outweighed giving away some free drinks.

Yep. It's the cost of the cups that really matters. Used to hate giving out extra cups at the ice cream shop for those who wanted to split their scoops and ****. People couldn't understand why a double scoop was cheaper than two single scoops.
