Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
For some reason that doesn't bother me one bit. I never was the type to be mad for hours. I move on with my life. I give her the you still mad huh look and go about my day happy as can be.
From my experience, eventually all women will cave if you don't talk to them and don't give them the satisfaction of being mad. All women want is a reaction out of you. Don't react to their BS and they get even more mad.
Every woman I ever dated learned pretty quick that I don't give a crap if they are mad. I will continue to live my life happy as hell.
I just don't like leaving on bad terms. If something were to happen to either of us, it would be hard to know that's the terms we went out on. The perils of love, I suppose.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

You know what really grinds my gears?
Isn't it always?
She called from work an hour or two later, I apologized for yelling this morning, and we'll be making sweet love when I get home from work. I won't apologize when I'm not truly wrong, and while I don't feel I was wrong over the initial firestarter, I did get loud this morning even if she still made a smart comment to set me off.Last edited by slickdtc; 03-13-2014, 04:51 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I get that it's annoying to have to wait for a parking spot but what I don't get is what you want the other guy to do. I doubt he's just sitting there doing absolutely nothing.
I'd say he has 4 options; He can do what he needs to do in the parking spot. He can pull out so you can park and take care of business in the middle of the driving lane of the parking lot. He can drive while on his cell or in some other way distracted. He can put off his business to help a stranger park quicker. I know what option I'd take.
I'm not trying to pick a fight here. I have friends that get impatient and angry at similar things and it always baffles me. Things like getting angry about waiting in lines etc. I usually try to put myself in the other person's/business' shoes in these situations. They typically aren't making you wait on purpose but have something to take care of.Comment

People that honk their horns.
It's not like the line of traffic just forgot driving is an option.

I honk if the light turned green and the guy is just sitting there. The front car has a responsibility to stare at the light until it hits green then go immediately so as many cars can make the light as possible. The fate of the entire line of cars is in their hands, it's not something to take lightly!Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I have to play a little bit of devil's advocate here.

I'm pretty patient, so if it had been a couple of minutes, no problem. But he waited 10 minutes before backing out.Comment

Yeah that's different. You're making someone aware.
It's the people that honk their horns in traffic as if that's somehow gonna open up the traffic jam.
A few weeks back I had to drive a cargo van in the City. Because the line of cars is crossing a Main Street and there was a large line of traffic, it was obvious it was gonna take a while. You can be the idiot that blocks the box, but smarter drivers know how to avoid that.
You can't just rush in behind the car in front of you because the light could change while you're sitting in the middle of oncoming traffic to your left or right.
But this one guy behind me just kept honking his horn. When I finally got to the crosswalk and noticed the car in front of me was barely gonna clear the intersection, I sat waiting despite a green light.
This guy jumps out of his car and begins to approach me. I don't know if maybe his screw tightened when he saw why I wasn't driving forward or if I struck fear in him (likely the former), but he jumped back into his car and didn't honk again.
Anyway, the point of the story is, stop honking for no reason.

Not being able to verbally express to my girlfriend how dumb her brother can truly be. She's aware of it, but sometimes I just need to say he's damn stupid.

Gun fights in movies or TV shows. It might be two guys 20 feet apart, the most expert badass shooters of their time, yet in wide open spaces no one can shoot the other. Eventually one guy gets nicked in the arm
Or a hero vs 100 assailants with assault rifles, grenades, missiles, etc... and nothing hits him. Then our hero picks off the bad guys one by one while on the run, jumping, barrel rolling, or whatever. Come on!Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment
