Back when I worked my Retail Department store job I would always agree to come in on my days off, then they started abusing me... calling me in all the time.

So from one point on during my off days I stopped answering the phone when they called. My boss asked me about it once and I said I was out and wasn't home, they stopped calling me on my days off from that point on.

They know I need the money and more than willing to come in.

I've been on salary now for 5 years which I do not like.

...but working retail/customer service for 6 years, nothing will make me go back to that. The amount of unthankful, rude and frankly self-important people I had to deal with clouds my entire experience.

People complaining about their Uber bill the the day after their NYE festivities. Uber sent out emails, even alerted in the app days in advance to expect really high surges.

For anyone not familiar with the user side of a surge, it informs you what the surge is, and you have to physically type in the numbers of the surge. Even if you aren't sure you can accept it, then go in and do a price estimator. Sure it sucks they rides were costing 7-9 times normal prices, but everyone should have been prepared for that.

My normal $7-$10 ride was going to be $45-$55 with UberX. Ended up just selecting Uber Black which was not in a surge, and got picked up in a brand new Suburban for $22.

One of my buddy's got victimized and was crying all day yesterday about it. Figured there was more to the story...

Same dude said he didn't even know how to use the app so, yeah. That's your fault.

Uber-on-NYE stories are just another example in the long line of examples of people being ****ing morons.

When I squeeze the ketchup bottle and tomato liquid/juice fills up my plate instead of ketchup.

I bought a bottle recently that was designed to stand upside down thinking it'd eliminate this need to shake. The watery liquid would rise to the top and the thick goodness would sink to the bottom where the squirty valve was right?

What a sham that bottle was.

My neighbor loves their EDM/Techno/whatever and I get to feel the bass from it. I probably should have introduced myself to all my neighbors when I moved in last summer

Since I'm a wussy about talking to people I think I might just finally hook up my good home theater sub that's been in storage, use the 20' cable I have, and set that bad boy next to the wall we share.

I of course also have a neighbor above me who walks around in concrete shoes and is a professional bowling ball dropper.

Coming into the office locker room and it's 50 degrees. Not even exaggerating...that's what the thermostat said.
