yes! what really doesnt make sense is why does the defense even have control of the ball in the first place. if they would just put the ball on a tee (like golf) or maybe let a batter toss the ball up and hit his own pitch, we wouldnt have to be bored to death with walks anymore.

and whats up with that weird number for 9 innings?
they only need 4 quarters in basketball and football, so if they can make baseball a 4 inning affair, game times can be cut completely in half.

then there's the small matter of umpires. nobody goes to a game to see umps. get rid of 'em completely and you wont have to worry about an unbiased 3rd party who doesnt even care who wins or loses (as long as its the home team that wins) slowing matters even more.

and dont even get me started on bullpens.since you dont really need pitchers in the first place(dh's are oh so much more entertaining) you can put 15 or 20 cheerleaders where the bullpen would normally be to distract from all the downtime.

also 1 vs 9 isnt really fair (or democratic) so the offense should be able to put 3 players in the outfield to stop defenders from slowing the offense down. if an outfielder is going to make a routine boring catch, that would really be spiced up if he was to be tackled by the offense to keep him from catching the ball. now I'm not proposing anything radical, an outfielder cant be tackled before he touches the ball, you have to give him a sporting chance.

I think if Manfred implemented all this tomorrow, we could eliminate any fan who isnt interested in progress from having any appeal in watching what only could be labeled New & Improved Baseball. after all, you cant stop progress.

Or worse, when Jeopardy contestants jump around the board.

I watch this show with my mom all the time, and it's hard to get a beat on a topic when we don't really groove ourselves for what it is. Even worse, they'll pick the challenging questions and save the easy ones for last, making it not feel progressively better as you work through the category. Some of them you really need to understand the category with the easier questions first.

That is what I was referring to when I said "team celebrations", the potato sack race, bowling your teammates down, duck duck goose, etc... You could never throw a taunting flag ever again if you let that **** play out.

This would be incredible to watch.

Taunting shouldn't be a penalty in the NFL in the first place. That's a little league infraction if I've ever heard one lol.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I may have posted about it here in the past, but anyway, there is a Pokemon-Go **** spot behind my house (in a small park), and lots of times people just park in the back lane behind my garage for as long as they want while playing the game. Sometimes in the middle of the night, or any time during the day.

I've contacted Niantic and explained the situation and asked them to remove this spot, but they didn't really care. I've called the police and they said that if the vehicle is parked in a way that doesn't block traffic, there's nothing they can do (I tried to argue that it's a back LANE(!) not a parking lot, but they didn't see any issue).

I've tried to contact a local news network, but they didn't seem to think it's an interesting issue to cover. So I guess all that's left is to move when I can. The little guy has lost again. It's like companies such as Niantic are like the supreme court - there's nothing you can say or do to affect them.

Looks like you're gonna need to use some guerrilla tactics here. Start with calling them asking for "Hugh Jazz" and "Amanda Hugandkiss." Then try putting their staplers in Jell-O. Then maybe the flaming bag of dog poo and ding-dong ditch 'em.

Let's see how Niantic likes being the victim, eh? *Tents fingers*

Still going strong here. But Winnipeg is kinda stuck in the 90's (that is...the 1890's), so it's not a big surprise. This thing just doesn't seem to go away.

Speaking about baseball, which I actually have nothing against - I watch it every now and then (although I grew up in a far far away galaxy where baseball is a sport as popular as curling)...I'm curious to know if people who find baseball boring also find golf boring. I LOVE watching golf (I wish I was able to play better than a 8-y/o) but I know so many people find it boring. I'm just curious if there is any connection between disliking baseball and disliking golf. Both have different dynamics/tempo than the usual team sports.
