Drivers who see a snowflake fall out of the sky, and instantly start driving as though they are driving on a sheet of ice.

Also, parking lots during this type of weather.

Today for example, had to deal with getting through a parking lot where it literally looked like driving through a maze. People were parked in the middle of a lane, some people parked between two spots, you literally couldn't even get into some lanes because people blocked it off with their illegal parking.

I decided to just park in the first spot I could get in to and walk from there. Would rather navigate through this car maze while walking instead of driving.

Also, not a winter specific thing, but in parking lots, people who act like they got the right of way 100% of the time. If you're exiting an aisle in the parking lot, STOP FIRST. Some people just drive out as if nobody is going left or right. Treat these things like stop signs at intersections.

When during a phone interview both the interviewer and the interviewee speak at the same time, then they both pause to let the other speak, then they both begin speaking again, then they pause again, they both tell each other to go ahead, they again pause, they again speak at the same time. Now it's important to sit and be extremely patient in allowing the other to speak... "crickets"... both become aware of the crickets and again speak at the same time

On a similar note, people that just park in front of a store (usually in a red zone) just waiting for someone in the store. Meanwhile everyone else has to wait for oncoming traffic to clear up to go around.

Also, people that stop and then unload their entire family in front of stores. If it's anything more than a quick stop and a person hopping out in a matter of seconds, just go park. Walking isn't going to kill you.

I feel like both of these issues are much more prevalent than they were a few years ago.

Out here I noticed a lot of husbands do that for their wives. They will stop right in front of the store door and let their wife out, just to park 15 feet away. There is a Staples store out here that is notorious for husbands parking in the fire zone right in front of the store while their wives shop inside of Staples. Now out here, Staples parking lot is rarely crowded, always plenty of parking. So I just be looking at them parked in the fire zone like you have all this empty parking lot 15 feet to the left of you, park over there.

Not like their wives be old or have trouble walking either.

It’s considered polite to drop your spouse off at the door which is why people do it. Sure you can walk the extra 15 feet but you could also open your own door too but people hold doors for others to be polite.

Walking isn't going to kill you.

Yeah, not walking is what kills people lol. So many people are in dire need of exercise, but instead they need to go around the block 20 times looking for a spot near the entrance.

Yeah I don't have a problem with people dropping others off at the door. I do that for my Dad who is not in the best of health.

My issue is people parking in non-parking spots, or waiting by the door in the car for someone to come out. Just go park and when you see them come out or they call you, swing around and pick them up at the door.

Dropping off is fine, even if it takes a bit longer. What I don't like is if it interferes with others. If you're actually blocking people from passing, then hurry up. Not just parking lots, but streets too. Cars stopped for whatever reason, but they're blocking a side of the road.

Even worse once they pull off, because many times people do without ever indicating and just do it so suddenly.

Speaking of which, that's another gear grinder, people who don't signal properly. So many people change lanes without signalling, it gets so annoying. Worse when it happens at intersections. You think the car ahead is going straight through the light, but last second they decided to turn. Worse at stop signs when you get there same time as someone across from you, there's no indicator so you assume they're also going straight... Until the moment I start driving again and they suddenly try to turn out of nowhere.

And no, not signalling until after you start to turn isn't ok.

All of the (completely valid) complaints above are basically symptoms of the same underlying problem: everyone in society is simply too self-centered and egocentric, so no one considers anybody else in anything they do. It's as if the vast majority of people are simply refusing to acknowledge that they live in a community or a social society, and any little bit of consideration for your fellow man never even enters their mind.

Why use my turn signal? I know where I'm turning.
Why edge over toward the curb so others can get by? I have someone to pick up here!

So much this. Just last night me and the wife were meeting some friends for dinner and she was looking to park. It was pretty packed so she was going like 1 mile per hour looking around for a spot while 2-3 cars were behind us. I was so irritated with her. There was literally about 7 spots maybe 50 feet away. No biggie. I tried to explain the reason I was mad was because she was acting like the parking lot was hers with no consideration for anyone else there. She said I was over reacting. Ugh did she piss me off. She's normally never like that either.

Anyways it's like you said. People just think it's their world and what they want or do is what matters most. I also think the fact I work in retail and see this **** on the daily gives me a hightened sense of self awareness because I don't want to become that ****ing dick of a human being. Rant over lol.
