Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Ugh, I hate waiting. Reminds me of the time I was waiting for probably at least an hour in the waiting room then longer in the exam room to see the doctor for a post-op checkup. He finally came in, looked at me for like 30 seconds to make sure everything was healed properly and sent me on my way.

When you order a sweet tea and it's either not sweet, sour or both. At least you can doctor unsweet tea you can't do anything with old sour tea.

Also, when your order a diet coke and they bring you a diet pepsi in its place without saying anything.

Both happened at the same restaurant recently. Order sweet tea, got gross tea, sent it back and got a diet coke instead, they brought me diet pepsi. I drank it but I didn't like it.

It's why I've stopped ordering raspberry ice tea at places, it's all syrup.

pepsi as a substitute for coke is like ordering a BLT and they decide Canadian bacon will suffice

Old Towne Ginger Ale >>>>>>>>>>>>> all other sodas. I can't even drink colored soda. Way too acidic for my liking. When I eat out, it is Sprite. Everywhere else, Old Towne Ginger Ale.

my current soda-wise rotation: Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, Sprite, Grapico. what really grinds my gears is having to cut back on soda. if I were a chemist, I'd spend my free time working on a sugar substitute that wouldnt change the flavour of my favourite drinks. I've had sugar free soft drinks before but those are the real gear grinders.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Lately all my gear grinders seem to be about driving. My current painting job is an hour drive to and from each day. This includes toll highway driving , speed limit 70 MPH. OK here's two problems , the section of the Maine turnpike I drive each day is 3 lanes. It's clearly posted that you should keep to the right lane except to pass , yet there is always someone out in the far left lane mindlessly cruising along at 65 MPH causing a huge back log of traffic. Dude if you can't go the speed limit GTF out of that lane. Normally those of us in that far left lane are going at least 80 MPH. How can be driving on a highway and not know what is going on around you? Look in your rear view mirror once and a while......

The second is something that is getting worse almost daily. It's the person that thinks they can just immediately turn or change lanes without looking just because they put their turn signal on. Good job using the turn signal but you still need to LOOK and make sure there is not a car where you want to go. It's getting crazy out there....

Oh wait one more , no one around here under the age of 25 seems to know what YIELD means..... Based on my recent experience they think it means nothing or go faster....

I haven't come across it in a soda but erythritol is a really nice sugar substitute.

It's really fascinating to me that the posted speed limit is supposed to be an upper limit but so many use it as the lower limit.
