If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I am so glad someone said this. Thank you.Originally posted by UndefeatedIf you're not on the team, or part of the coaching staff, it sounds absolutely ridiculous when you say 'we' with reference to your team.
This is my position, and I stand behind it.Listen to some of my covers:

Re: "We"
I say it.
I don't think I'm really part of team or anything, but I use it anyway. It's not that big of a deal and people that complain about it need lives.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: "We"
If you root for a team, buy thier merchindise, buy tickets and go to your teams games, and are emotionaly invested in your team in some way then you are linked to that team in my opinion. I say we and will continue to do so.Favorite Teams

Re: "We"
I agree. Other than the emotional aspect of it... as soon as I buy a ticket or a jersey, I become an investor in that team. Who do you think is paying A-Rod salary? Steinbrenner isn't just printing money, its the fans who are paying.

Re: "We"
Teams generally represent their fan base and the city in which they play.
A person saying "we" isn't implying they're part of the team or anything, they're implying what the team represents.
"We suck" - the team that represents our city sucks - or the team that the person shares their fan base with sucks.
"We rock" - the team that represents our city rocks - or the team that the person shares their fan base with rocks.
It's in no way stupid.Comment

Re: "We"
Considering the amount of passion, time, energy/emotion, and effort I put into each and every one of my teams--no matter where they are--you'd bet your *** I'm gonna say "we".Comment

Re: "We"
I think this thread is more directed towards people who are casual fans, which about 1% of OS is. Most the people here are pretty mature fans who have good, sensible rational for liking a team.Comment

Re: "We"
I grew up in South Bend for 25 years, so I grew up Loving the Irish, Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.
I have devoted 25 years worth of emotions, cash, time, travel, joy and disappointment. I have spent thousands of $ on team gear, tickets, travel etc...etc. If that does not warrant an emotional "We" or "I" when I speak in regards to my teams...then what the hell does. I don't even call my college team I played bball for "WE", because there is no emotional attachment, it was just a scholarship that was offered and I accepted.
When I use the terms "WE or "I", its not being used as If I belong to that team or am a member of it...I am a member of that fan base, the collective spirit thats roots for one commonality. The same people that I cheer with or look at with disappointment after a horrible play or loss...
For the fan that has to ask "hey, who does ( insert team ) play this weekend?" maybe "WE" and "I" seem absurd, but for the ones who spend hours before the game eating and drinking with fellow brethren, and hours after the game self dissecting the game, those terms will always be part of our vocabulary
...............and rightly so.Last edited by bluengold34_OS; 11-18-2007, 10:53 AM.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Re: "We"
It's complete nitpicking if someone bitches about a person saying "we". Usually someone brings it up when:
A) They're hating
B) They have nothing else to back up an argument with

Re: "We"
I think you have to use "we" and "us" if its your alma mater. I might not have lost any blood or tears of the field of competition at WVU, but I have poured my heart and soul (and liver) into cheering on my Mountaineers every week and I have put in work in the classroom and libraries on campus to deserve to be part of the collective that is the Mountaineers.www.simgamingnetwork.com Come join our leagues!
