Do you even begin to realize the toll it takes on the victim's of a burglary? People who resort to thievery are the lowest level of human that there is, and no bull**** society lead me to this excuse is sufficient. At some point, no matter how "desperate" they may be, they made the conscious decision to violate the sanctity of one's home. That was a decision that will have long lasting effects on the victim of their crime. But I guess we should forget that and feel sorry for the desperate criminal. These people are human excrement and I could careless what lead to their decision, I only care about the appalling decision they consciously made. Do they deserve to die, I don't know, my logical part says no, but then the other part of me says that a few of them getting offed and the offender not being prosecuted may be the best deterrent we have to this behavior.

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
Ridiculous. People do make mistakes you know? Just because someone breaks into someone's house DOESN'T mean they deserve to die. That standpoint is beyond idiotic. People make mistakes all the time, do things they normally wouldn't do, are desperate for some reason. What do you know about these two people and who they were? Nothing.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
They put themselves in the situation. They had the opportunity to save themselves. He clearly said he would shoot if they didn't stop. They didn't stop. You don't disobey a guy with a gun, unless you know you can get away unscathed or you just don't give a **** what happens in the end.
You see a sign on a fence that says "live minefield", do you run onto the field? No, you stop and turn around.
I myself wouldn't have shot them, but I don't disagree with what the guy did.Comment

Why did he have to use a shotgun? I am thinking if he just used a pistol and shot them that would have been enough to get his things back.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
"Police have not found the families of the dead men, who both are in their 30's."
These were grown *** men. They knew what they were doing, and they knew the consequences. I can only imagine what could have happened if the family was home.
They got what they deserved.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
It all goes back to the point that they were already running away from the property. That's where I think the shooter is screwed.
I will say this. I would feel really bad if that "large amount of money" the robbers took was for something really important.Comment

Mistakes? They were grown men. They decided to do illegal activities and it is reasonably foreseable that this could be an outcome of their choice. They were held accountable and they got owned by a 70 year old man with a shotgun.Comment

I wouldn't. Burglary isn't a second option to having a freakin job.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
Good to know none of you have ever made a big mistake then. I didn't say they made one and weren't bad people. What I said was you know nothing about them, and, believe it or not, people do make mistakes. Such unforgiving and ununderstanding people on this board. Seriously.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
He asked them to stop, they didn't.
No certainty that they weren't going to immediately go back into the house.
There are a ton of questions.
I guarantee this guy will not go to jail.Comment

There is nothing important enough to justify stealing from another.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
Sure there is. Lots of justifications. Like starving children who can't get anything to eat, and have to steal that food the vendor has out on the street, or steals a couple dollars so he can afford to get some food, because no one will help him or give him the chance to earn his food. There certainly are reasons in this world.Comment

Robbery (armed?) is not a mistake.Comment

Re: Man kills two while on the phone with cops
The point some of you are missing (must not have read the article) is that it was his neighbors house, not his. He wasn't protecting himself or his property. From listening to the entire 911 call it's pretty clear this guy went out of his way to kill these guys because he was pissed off about what they were doing.Comment
